"Specific Education Shines Towards Green and Welcomes the Evaluation Committee for the Best Environmentally Friendly University Competition"

 On Wednesday, July 10, 2024, the Faculty of Specific Education at Kafr El-Sheikh University welcomed the Evaluation Committee for the Best Environmentally Friendly University Competition, affiliated with the Supreme Council of Universities. The committee was headed by Dr. Mohamed Abdel Azim, Vice President of Mansoura University for Community Service and Environmental Development. The event was supervised by Prof. Dr. Abdel Razek Desouky, President of the University, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Aal, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ismail El-Qan, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Dr. Amani Mohamed Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development. Also present was Prof. Dr. Naglaa Hosni Al-Ashraf, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education at Kafr El-Sheikh University.
Dr. Abdel Razek Desouky, President of Kafr El-Sheikh University, explained that the competition aims to identify the best green university in Egypt by evaluating participating universities based on several criteria, including education and scientific research, university infrastructure, energy and climate change standards, waste management, water management, transportation within the university, and the university's role in community service and development. He extended his gratitude to the Evaluation Committee for the Best Environmentally Friendly University Competition, wishing them success.
 
Dr. Amani Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that Kafr El-Sheikh University aims to achieve Egypt's Vision 2030, which reflects the state's long-term strategic plan for sustainable development. The university is also working to raise student awareness about environmental issues and contribute to building a better and more sustainable future for future generations. She thanked the university administration and faculties for their cooperation and efforts to present Kafr El-Sheikh University in a distinguished manner. She also expressed her gratitude to the members of the University's Competition Management Committee.
The committee conducted an inspection tour within the Faculty of Specific Education and several other faculties on the university campus. The field visit included the inauguration of a waste recycling exhibition featuring innovative and environmentally friendly methods to promote sustainability. The visit also included the educational carpet factory and the green office, which showcases various technological innovations and different artistic works.
At the conclusion of the activities, the Dean expressed her heartfelt gratitude and welcome to the esteemed guests, affirming that the faculty strives diligently under the university's supervision to provide all forms of support to its students, ensuring the proper investment of all materials, recycling them, and preserving the environment. She concluded with a wish for God Almighty to protect Egypt and its people.
