 A decision was issued by the Tanta University Council on 29/5/1985 to establish the

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Kafrelsheikh, upon the recommendation of the

Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, to contribute to the

development of the Delta region.

 

The process of establishing the Faculty was proposed on 17/1/1987 and

implementation began on 1/8/1988. The buildings of the 6 clinical departments were

completed in October 1990. The study began at the Faculty in the academic year

1991/1992 in the first and second year, based on a decision of the University

Council on 25/7/1991.
