International student enrollment in the Faculties

After sending approval from General Administration for Admission and Granting International Students and the international student’s file, the International Student Affairs Administration - in the General Administration of Educational Affairs at the university - the administration submits the international student’s admission statement to Prof. Dr. the Vice President for Education and Students’ Affairs for approval to admit the international student. After His approval, the International Student Administration sends the student’s file after review to his/her faculty to do the necessary work and enroll the student.

Documents required from the international student:

1)      Original academic certificate (certified).

2)      A copy of the student’s passport.

3)      Original birth certificate.

4)      The embassy’s letter to those applying through it.

5)      6 personal photos.

·         The student pays the tuition fees imposed on him/her for enrollment.

Transferring the enrollment of international students (transfers)

For senior students, applications for re-nomination are submitted

·         Re-enrollment of those who have exhausted their failure times

·         Transfer

·         Enrollment transfer

·         Completing the study

He/she applies to the General Administration for Admission and Granting of Foreign Students at the Ministry before the start of the study.

 

 

Transferring international students among Egyptian public universities:

·         International students are allowed to transfer to all faculties in Egyptian public universities, provided that the student obtains the approval of the two academic institutions from which he is transferring and the transferee, which requires the approval of the President of the University or the Vice President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs in both universities.

·         The transfer takes place before the start of the study, and it is not permissible to transfer after it except in the event of some special circumstances that are determined by the council of the two universities, and provided that the student has paid all tuition fees and expenses and any financial obligations at the faculty from which he is transferring before completing the transfer procedures.

·         For students transferred from Syria, Libya, Yemen, and Iraq, they must apply directly to the faculty to which they want to transfer, with an application attached to it indicating their enrollment in any of the corresponding faculties in public universities in any of these countries - according to which they will obtain a letter addressed to the General Administration for Admission and Granting of International Students at the Ministry with initial approval for the transfer, so that this is not considered final acceptance until after reviewing his/her papers with the Ministry and the extent to which he meets the conditions for the transfer, then he applies on the sector’s website www.mohe.casm.edu.eg starting from 1/8 according to the announcement published on the website, after which the university will receive final approval to admit his/her transfer.

 

Postponing enrollment for foreign students

·          It is permissible to postpone the registration of a junior student for one year only, although it is not permitted to postpone his enrollment for another year through the General Administration for Admission and Granting of International Students or at the university through a request submitted by the student.

 

Palestinian students

·         Palestinian students who graduate from high school within Palestine pay 50% of university fees and expenses.

·         Palestinian students who obtained high school outside Palestine:

A)    The faculty will continue collecting 10% of tuition fees and expenses from international Sudanese students.

B)    A decision was issued by the Supreme Council of Universities on 5/7/1995 about handling the children of Egyptian women married to foreigners enrolled in faculties and institutes at the first university level as Egyptian students with regard to university fees, as follows:

1)      For the sons and daughters of divorced and widowed Egyptian women, and for the sons and daughters of Egyptian women whose inability to pay fees has been proven by social research.

2)      As for the other categories, they are (children of government and business sector employees - children of political refugees - those permanently residing in Egypt who were born and have completed all stages of their studies here).

3)      (Reducing tuition fees to only 10% of the total fees, with an exemption from registration fees, within the results of examining the marital status of each of them).

4)      Applications are submitted to the colleges and institutes nominated for admission, accompanied by documents supporting the status of each of them, which the university sends to the Ministry to issue the necessary approval in accordance with the rules established for each case.

5)      Only the successful transfer student will continue to enjoy this advantage, with the possibility of continuing it in the event of failure only once during the university stage in recognition of his/her circumstances, provided that he/she submits a request to his college to refer him/her to the Ministry of Higher Education, accompanied by documents supporting these circumstances for approval.

The documents required in the event that the principle of reduction is applied or they are treated as Egyptian students in the tuition fees imposed on international students according to each case as follows:

First: Children of divorced and widowed Egyptian mothers:

1.      Fill out the form for a divorced or widowed Egyptian mother.

2.      A copy of the mother’s card (national ID).

3.      A copy of the divorce document and an endorsement from the mother that she is still divorced.

4.      A copy of the student’s birth certificate.

5.      A copy of the mother’s marriage contract.

6.      A study case statement about the student if he/she is paying tuition fees and expenses if he/she is not a junior student

Second: Children of an Egyptian mother who are unable to pay

1.      Fill out the form designated for this purpose.

2.      A copy of the mother’s card.

3.      A copy of the student’s birth certificate.

4.      A letter from the father’s employer or a copy of the employment contract showing the monthly income, documented and approved.

5.      Social research from the Social Affairs Office affiliated with the student’s residence.

6.      A copy of the father's passport.

7.      A study case statement about the student if he/she is paying tuition fees and expenses if he/she is not a junior student

Third: Students permanently residing in the country (born in Egypt and having completed all levels of education here):

1.      Fill out the form designated for this purpose.

2.      A copy of the student’s birth certificate.

3.      Social research from the Social Affairs Office affiliated with the student’s residence.

4.      A letter from the father’s employer or a copy of the employment contract showing the monthly income, documented and approved.

5.      A copy of the educational certificates (primary - preparatory – high school).

6.      A copy of the father’s passport

7.      A study case statement about the student if he/she is paying tuition fees and expenses if he/she is not a junior student

Copies of documents must be certified by the faculty or institute after reviewing the originals and signing the responsible employee.

The last date for submitting applications received to the Department shall be at the end of March of each year.
