Announcement of the opening of applications for international students to enroll in Egyptian public universities and institutes at the undergraduate level
Terms of Admission:
1. Obtaining an Egyptian high school certificate or its equivalent or a diploma (a certificate obtained by the student after two years of high school study) with success in the qualifying subjects and fulfillment the minimum requirements for admission to the faculty or institute to which one wants to admit.
2. The admission of any foreign students to any university or institute will not be taken into account unless their acceptance is approved by the Ministry.
How to apply:
1. Applications for admission are submitted through the International Information Network via the website of the international student coordination system https://www.wafeden.gov.eg or accessing the same link via the website of the Ministry’s Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector www.mohe-casm.edu.eg starting from Tuesday 5/1/2018 until the end of Friday 8/31/2018.
2. Consider uploading clear copies of the following papers to the International Student Coordination System website:
A) (high school certificate or diploma - add the competency certificate for Saudi high school) and the student’s valid passport
B) (Information form printed from the website)
C) (Children of an Egyptian mother must upload proof of this) - the student’s birth certificate - the national ID card (his mother)
3. Students who are children of Egyptian mothers must clarify this while registration data.
4. Modification of the student’s data or wishes remains available unless the “Save Final” option is clicked.
5. Registration is considered void for anyone who applies more than once or submits incorrect or incomplete data or documents.
6. The date of the results will be announced later on the sector’s website.
7. After the initial result appears, of which the student will be notified through his personal account on the International Student Coordination System website, the nomination is not considered final and will not be implemented until the student directly submits the originals of his papers that include: High school certificate (*) - birth certificate - passport copy - (6) personal photos - aptitude test result (for faculties that require this test) - taking into account that submitting these documents is done as follows:
A) Students of Egyptian certificates (all types of high school (general, technical, technical diplomas): They apply directly to the General Administration of Admission and Granting of international students at the Ministry, with proof that the mother is Egyptian for the students concerned.
B) Students who are children of an Egyptian mother who have equivalent certificates: They apply directly to the General Administration of Admission and Granting of international students at the Ministry, with proof that the mother is Egyptian.
C) Students nominated through embassies: They apply to their country’s embassies in Cairo, which is responsible for finalizing the procedures with the Ministry’s General Administration for Admission and Granting of International Students.
8. For faculties that offer an aptitude test, the student must apply directly to the faculty to know the dates and perform the test.
9. Students wishing to perform the central competition exam for graduates of technical diplomas (3, 5 years) must apply directly to Cairo University.
10. For students of the two items (8, 9), they must have been previously submitted on the aforementioned website.
11. As for senior students (who are already enrolled in Egyptian universities and institutes in the academic year 2017/2018 and before, and who wish to re-nominate or re-enroll/transfer/ enrollment transfer), they must submit their applications directly to the General Administration for Admission and Granting of International Students at the Ministry, starting from 7/1/2018 until 12/31/2018.
12. For students transferred from Syria, Libya, Yemen, and Iraq, they must apply directly to the faculty to which they want to transfer, with an application attached to it indicating their enrollment in any of the corresponding faculties in public universities in any of these countries - according to which they will obtain a letter addressed to the General Administration for Admission and Granting of International Students at the Ministry with initial approval for the transfer, so that this is not considered final acceptance until after reviewing his/her papers with the Ministry and the extent to which he meets the conditions for the transfer, then he applies on the sector’s website www.mohe.casm.edu.eg starting from 1/8 according to the announcement published on the website, after which the university will receive final approval to admit his/her transfer.
Important note:
· Applying via the website is a free service - from the start of the student’s application until he/she is notified of initial admission through his/her account on the website.
· Admission of students nominated by the State of Malaysia is limited to the following six universities (Cairo/Ain Shams/ Alexandria/Tanta/Mansoura/Zagazig) in accordance with what was agreed upon in this regard.
· (*) As for the equivalent certificate, it must be authenticated by the Egyptian embassy in the country from which the student obtained his certificate or the embassy of the country from which he obtained the certificate in Egypt.
· Dealing with the student himself/herself or his/her first-degree relatives (father/mother/brother/sister) or a representative of his country’s embassy in Cairo is limited.
