 Rules of implement EGY-AID scholarships (Cultural Exchange - Sub-Committee for International Students at The Ministry of Foreign Affairs)For both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels:
§ Scholarship students are registered through the scholarship platform in accordance with the rules governing this.
§ The student pays $100 upon registration for the examination and evaluation of the documents submitted by the student on the platform.
§ The deadline to apply is 15/9/2023
§ The student must fulfill all the conditions/ requirements for admission to apply for the Egyptian universities in the academic level they are nominated to receive a scholarship in
§ The student applying on the "Study in Egypt" platform, at his own expense and completes all the procedures is entitled to apply on the scholarship track (EGY-AID) in the same year.
§ Scholarship applicants may not be registered until a response is received from the concerned security authorities,
§ A percentage of scholarships offered through Cultural programs and Agreements and the sub-committee for international students at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is allocated for nomination to faculties of the following sectors (medicine - engineering - computers and information), according to what the committee deems appropriate and according to the numbers of students applying to study at their own expense, as well as the number of scholarship applicants from each country individually.
§ International students who are candidates for scholarships are accepted by Egyptian universities in regular/mainstream departments and divisions. In case a student wishes to enroll in another academic program with fees, the student pays the fees and tuition fees enforced on self-funded international students in that program.
§ The established scholarships are distributed to all universities throughout the Republic, within the limits of the universities’ capacity, in proportion to the number of international students at their own expense.
§ International students whose acceptance has been approved by the Presidency of the Republic are not entitled to benefit from scholarships or apply for exemption or reduction of fees and tuition fees established for international students in foreign currency, with the exception of Agency for Development scholarship students at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
§ All Universities shall contact the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific research - the Central Administration for International Student Affairs- a list about any students who are nominated on the basis of programs or agreements of the Nile Basin, projects of the European Union or foreign scholarships funded through joint projects, training courses in Arabic language centers of universities or any short-term training, attached with a copy of the agreement conducted or letters of exchange with foreign universities and in addition to the copies of the students' passports for approval by the competent authority.
§ Scholarship students from African countries (Anglophone and Francophone) are exempted from tuition fees in the language departments of the faculties of Egyptian universities, except for new programs, according to the decision of the Supreme Council of Universities in its session of 19/8/2017.
§ The undergraduate scholarship cannot be converted to a postgraduate scholarship Or vice versa
§ Scholarships allocated for the current academic year may not be postponed to the next academic year Only after presentation to the competent committee.
§ The scholarship is terminated if the student does not use it in the year of nomination and is not replaced by another student.
Conditions for applying for the scholarship:
§ The student applying for the scholarship should be academically outstanding and fulfill the minimum requirement (70% high school for the undergraduate level - a good grade for the two postgraduate studies)
§ Maximum age of availability (19 undergraduate degree- 26 years, master's degree- 32 doctorate PhD).
§ Submit a research proposal for those wishing to enroll in postgraduate studies.
§ Submit the documents required for the application.
§ Write a good personal letter.
§ Provide at least a letter of recommendation, with the details of the referrers (telephone- e-mail) to contact if necessary.
§ Provide a detailed CV.
§ Conduct a personal interview via Zoom or phone, according to the available mechanism, for those who were initially selected by the Evaluation and Selection Committee.
