Art Education has witnessed numerous developments and scientific theories at both the international and regional levels in an effort to address and meet the evolving needs of society. In this context, the Faculty of Specific Education, particularly the Department of Art Education, has played a pioneering role in the development of the local and regional community by keeping pace with these developments through the establishment of the Department of Art Education in 1991.
Since its establishment, continuous efforts have been made to develop the Department's academic programs at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral levels. A new phase of leadership was achieved through the University's strategic plan, which adopted quality enhancement and development initiatives, pursued institutional and program accreditation, and sought to position the University among internationally recognized universities.
In line with their strategic plans, the Faculty of Specific Education and the Department of Art Education adopted the Faculty's vision and mission. The Department's Bachelor's and Master's programs were re-evaluated in light of the needs of the local and regional community. Furthermore, a Textile Factory was established within the Faculty, the first of its kind among Egyptian universities, to meet the educational and research needs of the community through the Department's role in sustainable community development. This has been achieved through organizing art and fine arts exhibitions, lectures, seminars, and scientific research.
Accordingly, the Department has assumed a leading role in enhancing both internal and external competencies, striving to improve the quality of its educational outcomes in response to community needs, and establishing an advanced educational environment that keeps pace with global developments and is designed to foster knowledge and support the development of modern society.
Head of the Department: Prof. Dr. Iman Mostafa Ibrahim Rehan
