Kafrelsheikh University wins the second place among Egyptian universities in the field of entrepreneurship during the First National Forum for Sustainable Innovation for university students, hosted by Tanta University with the participation of more than 20 universities over three days.
Students from Kafrelsheikh University presents three distinguished entrepreneurial projects. The project “Grow Up” wins the second place at the national level in entrepreneurship. It is a smart farming system based on vertical and hydroponic agriculture to produce higher-quality crops at lower cost, integrated with artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT). The system relies on sensors to measure temperature, humidity, and water quality, with the possibility of automated control of irrigation and lighting, contributing to resource conservation and improved agricultural production.
The projects “Wareed Al-Amal (Vein of Hope)” and “Edu Play” are also highly appreciated by the jury, and together with the winning project contributed to the university’s achievement of this advanced position—reflecting the excellence of Kafrelsheikh students in innovation and entrepreneurship.
The President congratulates the winning and participating students, thanking the university’s staff members and supervisors for their continuous support, confirming that Kafrelsheikh University is steadily moving towards fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among its students, in line with the state’s vision of building a generation capable of creativity and competing both locally and internationally.
Otherwise, Prof. Rushdy El-Adawy, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and General Coordinator of Student Activities, notes that this success is the result of a supportive academic environment and the university’s full backing of its creative students. He adds that true innovation is not just about generating new ideas, but about creating practical and applicable solutions that contribute to solving problems and delivering added value to society.
