The Activities of the Sports Festival for People with Disabilities "We Are the Life" in Abu Qir, Alexandria

The university participates in the activities of the sports festival for people with disabilities in Egyptian universities, with the slogan "We are the Life", in the Youth City in Abu Qir, east of Alexandria, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University; Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdelaal, Vice President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs; Dr. Rushdy El-Adawy, General Coordinator of Student Activities at the University, and Mr. Ehab Gad, General Director of Student Welfare at the University.

Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, announces the winning of the student Mahmoud Hashem, fourth year, Faculty of Arts, the bronze medal in weightlifting, congratulating the student Mahmoud Hashem on obtaining the third place in the championship, wishing him further success.

Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, confirms that the university's participation in this sports festival aims to raise the physical fitness levels of participating male and female students with disabilities to learn about arbitration methods and organizational techniques, invest the energies and free time of students and increase rapprochement and acquaintance among them, in addition to contributing through sports to maintaining security and societal peace. The festival also contributes to discovering sports talents among people with disabilities, bringing out creative energies and disseminating sports awareness within the student community, restoring the role and position of universities in the sports arena locally, regionally and internationally, and expanding the participation of universities in discovering champions and talented people with disabilities in all national sports.

 

Otherwise, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdelaal, Vice President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs, points out that the sports festival is held within the framework of the interest given by the political leadership to the segment of people with abilities and determination, and within the framework of Egypt's Vision 2030, and based on the sustainable development goals that aim to care for people with abilities and determination and integrate them into society, explaining that 645 male and female students representing 24 Egyptian universities participated in the festival, in addition to representatives of the supervisory body of the participating universities.
