The University Unit for Combating Violence against Women organizes a celebration of International Women’s Day and Egyptian Women’s Day at the Faculty of Specific Education

The University Unit for Combating Violence against Women, in cooperation with the Faculty of Specific Education, organizes a celebration of International Women’s Day and Egyptian Women’s Day, entitled “Women’s Public Health,” under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouki, President of the University, and Dr. Amany Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affair at the Faculty of Specific Education.

Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, stresses that the Egyptian state cares about women and their social and economic empowerment, pointing out the university’s keenness to provide awareness to students and citizens about the appreciation of Egyptian women, and to enhance their role in building the Egyptian human being, pointing out that women walk side by side to raise the banner of society, in addition to their role in raising children and developing upbringing to face challenges and provide support for the family they form. The university also does not hesitate to support Egyptian women in various fields inside and outside the university, in implementation of the instructions of the political leadership and the state’s strategy for empowering women 2030.

Otherwise, Dr. Amany Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, points out that the celebration is held within the framework of the role of women, which is one of the most influential roles in society as a mother, wife, and daughter, appreciating the role of women in life, the labor market, and in volunteer work.

She also sends a message of thanks to every strong woman who has a positive impact on her community, adding that the university is interested in all the activities of the Unit for Combating Violence against Women, and the university is also keen to organize activities that benefit and empower girls and women on campus.

 

Dr. Wael Al-Feky, Professor of Cardio-thoracic Surgery and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, lectures at the meeting, during which he reviews the types of diseases that affect women at different age stages and how to diagnose and treat them. The discussion is also opened for students about women’s general health.
