Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, announces that the university appeared among the thirteen best Egyptian universities in the Dutch Leiden University Rankings as it ranked 1380 globally, 39th in Africa, and 13th locally, while it ranked the fifth place locally and 18th in Africa in life sciences. In physical and engineering sciences, it ranked 12th locally and 31st in Africa, and in medical and biological sciences, it ranked 13th locally and 34th in Africa.
Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky indicates that the university’s success in being in advanced positions in all international rankings is the result of great efforts and planning that was prepared and providing all the appropriate atmosphere for distinguished scientific publication in all scientific journals with global influence, as well as issuing scientific journals in cooperation with international publishing houses to open new paths for staff members for international scientific publishing.
Dr. Ismail Al-Qon, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, indicates that the Dutch Leiden ranking of international universities depends on the global scientific publication classified in the Clarivate database, the quality of this researches, and institutional and international cooperation for its production, and it also sets a number of academic indicators, according to the bibliometric criteria that measure the volume, number and impact coefficient of citation of scholarly publications by researchers affiliated with universities, ratios and numbers of joint researches with other universities and industrial institutions, discipline and institutional size, international and regional research reputation, international cooperation, exchange of students, staff members and researchers with other universities.
