In cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Department of Scouting and Public Service organizes a training course on first aid in cooperation with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health and the Faculty of Nursing, within the activities of the Scouting and Guiding Training Center, sponsored by Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, and Dr. Mohammed Abd El-Aal, Vice President for Education and Students’ Affairs, under the supervision of Dr. Ali Sabry, Secretary General of the University; Dr. Maha Abu Jazieh, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing; Dr. Rushdy Al-Adawy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for Postgraduate Studies and Research and General Coordinator of Student Activities at the University, and Dr. Sobhy Siraj, Advisor of the University’s Scouting Committee.
Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, explains that the course includes defining the concept of first aid, its importance, who is the paramedic, his duties at the beginning of the injury, and the contents of the first aid kit, methods of initial assessment of the injured, the method of taking care of the vital signs of the injured, breathing and pulse, how artificial respiration works, and dealing with injuries such as "fractures, burns, wounds, fainting, sunstroke, heart resuscitation, recovery mode, methods of proper handling of them, and practical applications on first aid.
The course program also includes a set of theoretical lectures and practical application of many different injuries and how to deal with them as first aid to reduce the aggravation of the injury and maintain and care for the injured until the arrival of the ambulance, by a distinguished group of staff members and trainers at the Faculty of Nursing.
