Prof. Ismail Ismail Ibrahim congratulates the deans of the faculties that won the Government Excellence Award this year, as the Faculty of Agriculture is in the first place, the Faculty of Pharmacy in the second place, and the Faculty of Engineering wins the third place. He praises the efforts of the teamwork within the faculties, confirming that the excellence system has become a strategic approach within the university, and expressed hope that all university faculties will win in future rounds.
During the meeting, the President reviews a number of topics related to the development of the educational process across all sectors, performance reports of the faculties and institutes, the status of examinations and preparations for the first semester, in addition to following up research plans, supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, and enhancing student training programs.
The Council also reviews achievements in the sectors of community service and environmental development, digital transformation files, administrative development, and support for student projects, affirming the university’s continuation in implementing its comprehensive plan to upgrade the educational, research, and service system in a way that meets the needs of the local community and aligns with the state’s strategy for sustainable development.
Within the framework of discussing postgraduate studies and research sector topics, the Council addresses efforts to support researchers, encourage scientific publication in international journals, and increase the number of applied research projects linked to the needs of the local community and industry, in implementation of the state’s strategy to support innovation and link scientific research to sustainable development.
The Council also discusses a number of academic and administrative topics, including the development of study programs in line with labor market requirements, and support for interdisciplinary programs and modern specializations in the fields of artificial intelligence, digital transformation, renewable energy, and biotechnology, in order to enhance the competitiveness of the university’s graduates locally and regionally.
The Council also approved:
- The appointment of 3 professors, 4 assistant professors, and 5 lecturers.
- Awarding Master’s degree to 43 researchers and Doctorate degree to 17 researchers.
- Awarding the Professional Master’s degree to 25 researchers and the Professional Doctorate degree to 6 researchers.
