The President witnesses the Closing Ceremony of the Programs and Activities of the Drug Control Fund in Kafrelsheikh Governorate

Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, witnesses the closing ceremony of the activities and programs of the Drug Control Fund in Kafrelsheikh Governorate for the year 2024, at the Culture Palace in the governorate, in the presence of Major General Dr. Alaa Abd El-Moaty, Governor of Kafrelsheikh; Dr. Amr Othman, Director of Drug Control Fund affiliated to the Prime Minister’s Office; Brigadier General Mustafa Shawky, Military Advisor of Kafrelsheikh Governorate; Prof. Dr. Amany Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; Colonel Osama El-Desouky, Director of the Dignified Life Foundation Office in Kafrelsheikh, and the Undersecretaries of the Ministry in Kafrelsheikh Governorate, representatives of Al-Azhar and the Church, and the security and executive leaderships in the governorate.

The president points out that the university has held many seminars and awareness campaigns to educate students about the dangers and harms of using substances that affect mental health, and to correct misconceptions among young people about drugs, in continuation of implementing the initiatives of the President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for human development, which is in activation of the protocol signed between Kafrelsheikh University and the Drug Control Fund, as addiction leads to the loss and waste of human resources and affects work and production, and that combating addiction and drugs contributes to protecting society and individuals from this imminent danger.

At the end of his speech, Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, extends his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Drug Control Fund for the important role it plays in raising awareness among individuals and society, through defining the substances that affect mental health, the harm of drugs to the individual, the harm of drugs to the family and society, the role of youth in confronting the drug problem, the efforts made by the Egyptian state to confront drugs, how to detect addiction early, mechanisms for dealing with an addicted patient, drugs and their impact on the progress of societies and building nations, and the therapeutic role of the Drug Control Fund via the hotline that provides treatment in complete confidentiality and for free, wishing you continued success and guidance.

 

At the end of the ceremony, Dr. Amr Othman, Director of the Drug Control Fund, presents the Fund’s shield to Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of Kafrelsheikh University, for the contributions and achievements made by the university within the framework of fruitful cooperation between the university and the Drug Control Fund to eliminate the phenomenon of addiction.
