In continuation of the implementation of the initiative of the President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for human development, a new beginning for human building, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector organizes a seminar entitled " The Role of Youth in Confronting Drugs", which is held at the Faculty of Physical Therapy, to raise students' awareness of the dangers and harms of using substances that affect mental health, and to correct misconceptions among young people about drugs, in cooperation and coordination with Drug Control Fund, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University; Prof. Dr. Amany Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; and Dr. Amr Othman, Director of Drug Control Fund in Kafrelsheikh, which is held in activation of the protocol signed between Kafrelsheikh University and Drug Control Fund and the implementation of the plan of the Environmental Affairs Sector for the academic year 2024/2025.
Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, confirms that the aim of holding these seminars is to raise awareness among university students about the dangers of addiction and drugs, their types, and methods of confrontation and treatment, as part of the national plan to combat the phenomenon of addiction and drug abuse, which the university is implementing in cooperation with Drug Control Fund, and which the state is adopting within the framework of efforts to build the human being and preserve the health and safety of citizens, confirming that addiction leads to the loss and waste of human resources and affects work and production, and that combating addiction and drugs contributes to protecting society and individuals from this imminent danger.
Otherwise, Dr. Amany Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, confirms that the university administration is keen to hold and implement educational and awareness programs to disseminate the culture of awareness of the harms and dangers of drugs of all kinds and to correct misconceptions within the framework of community participation and implementation of the national plan to combat drug abuse. She also praises the fruitful cooperation between Kafrelsheikh University and Drug Control Fund.
