Obtaining a master’s degree in a medical specialty requires studying (40 credit hours) with success in all courses with a grade of at least C and a cumulative average of no less than 2.44.

1. Part One (one semester) (first):

·          One semester: 8 credit hours. It starts after the date of enrollment for the master's degree.

·          The department that proposes to grant the degree identifies the courses that must be taught in the first part and participates with the scientific department or departments related to these courses in determining the scientific content and developing the course description and study plan.

2. The second part (two semesters) (Second and Third):

·          Two semesters, 20 credit hours

·          Starts with the beginning of the second semester, and success is required in the first part, and it is devoted to studying the basic and elective courses in the subject of specialty, based on the proposal of the degree-granting department council and the approval of the college council.

·          Clinical or practical training is an essential part of the degree, and the relevant departments prepare their own training program.

·          The resident or demonstrator spends an actual training period of no less than 24 months, starting from the date of enrollment for the master's degree.

3. Thesis: (fourth semester)

·          Obtaining a master's degree in one of the medical specialties, in addition to classroom and clinical training, requires conducting academic / applied research from an integrated scientific thesis estimated at the equivalent of 10 credit hours.

·          The thesis is enrolled at the beginning of the second semester after passing the first part, and it is not discussed until six months after passing the second part, and one year after its registration, on the approval of the College Council or its representative.

·          The progress of the thesis is observed by a periodic report every six months submitted by the main supervisor and approved by the department council or his representative and submitted to the college's postgraduate studies department.

4. Various scientific activities: two credit hours.

·          These activities include, for example, attending scientific conferences, discussing scientific theses, participating in scientific seminars, training courses, and workshops related to the field of specialty, provided that the student submits supporting and documenting documents for carrying out these activities (logbook).
