For his part, Dr. Rushdy Al-Adawy indicates that the aim of the symposium is a dialogue between students about the population issue and all related variables, which represent one of the most important development challenges that the Egyptian state faces during this stage, and to put forward the negative effects and economic and social pressures resulting from the increase in the imbalance between resources and the population, and studying the population challenges and correcting any misconceptions that may exacerbate the crisis, such as discrimination between males and females, underage marriage, and the danger of early marriage, in addition to setting mechanisms to achieve a balance between population growth rates and available resources, maximizing investment in human energy, emphasizing the value of the family and preserving its development and stability.

The symposium is lectured by Dr. Hemmat Bassiouni Abd El-Aziz, Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Arts, who indicates that the population increase is related to the environmental problem with regard to compressive quality problems that impede development, such as congestion, noise, pollution in its various forms, and other health, behavioral, social, economic and educational problems that result from it.
