Kafr ElSheikh University Prizes
Sorts of the Prizes:
During the period of the scientific and technological progress, and depending on the motto that no progress without scientific research, it was necessary to prize those remarkable staff members and students in the field of scientific research. Such prizes resemble a positive motive to create the promising scientific environment that enables our university to catch the progress flow and compete other Egyptian universities and the foreign ones as well. Hence, it was approved by the university council to grant those remarkable scientific researchers as a source of gratitude to their great efforts.
- Estimative University Prize.
- Encouraging University Prize.
- University Prize of Scientific Publishing.
- University Prizes of Graduated Pioneers.
Fields of the University Estimative and Encouraging Prizes:
The university grants each year sixteen prizes that include; eight estimative prizes, and eight encouraging prizes. The following fields include the topics of prize subject that should vary mutually each year among the faculty of the expected prize:
- Politics,
- Agricultural Sciences,
- Economic and Administrative Sciences,
- Engineering Sciences,
- Social Sciences and Humanities,
- Ecological Studies,
- Vet-Medicine Sciences and
- Educational Sciences.
Estimative University Prize:
- Value of the prize:
- The value of the prize worth is (10000) Egyptian Pounds and a estimation certificate granted by the university for only one member in every field when only he/she gains 85% of the estimation score.
- Conditions of granting the prize:
- The prize is granted to a professor with ten years experience after the professor degree at least, only when he/she spends at least five continuous years staying in Egypt.
- Establishers of scientific methods or schools and practices activities during their professional life at the university.
- The prize is granted only once for the elected member.
- Winners’ selection:
- The Vice- chief of the post graduate studies affairs represents the candidates’ files to the committee to be examined and selecting winners according to the jury’s form of the prize.
- According to the granting prizes jury the prize may be omitted in case no candidates are being represented or the candidate catches less than85% of the prize examiners’ support.
Encouraging Prize of the University:
- Value of the Prize:
- The worth of the each encouraging prize equals (5000) Egyptian pounds, and an estimation certificate granted by the university for only one member in every field when only he/she gains 80% of the estimation score.
- The prize is granted only once for the elected member.
- Conditions of the Prize:
- The prize is granted to a professor with ten years experience after the professor degree at least, only when he/she spends at least five continuous years staying in Egypt.
- The research should be valuable, as it indicates the accuracy and originality of the scientific search, and it should serve the nation and the world as well.
- Idea of the research should be innovated and applicatory.
- It is preferable to be published in foreign scientific magazines and journals.
- Regarding the humanities’ research prize, the research paper should contain SPN at the Egyptian House of Books.
- The Vice- chief of the post graduate studies affairs represents the candidates’ files to the committee to be examined and selecting winners according to the jury’s form of the prize.
- The committee of granting the prizes selects three promotion committee members in each field of the prize’s fields and sends the researches containing a judgment form of the encouraging prize to be judged. Results of the jury are sent back to the vice- chief of the post graduate studies affairs bureau.
- The vice- chief of the post graduate studies affairs displays the results of the judgment to the prizes’ committee at the university and the committee selects the final winners.
- According to the granting prizes jury the prize may be omitted in case no candidates are being represented or the candidate catches less than 80% of the prize examiners’ support.
Scientific Publishing Prize of the University:
The winners gains 1000 Egyptian pounds that are distributed equally among the participants of the research within the university. The gain of each participant should not exceed 3000 Egyptian pounds during the whole financial year.
- How to represent for the Prize?
- The staff member represents his/her published research paper, the journal containing this published research paper and a request letter to the department chief to be displayed for discussion in front of the department council to agree for his/her being granted the prize.
- The approval of the department council is escalated to gain the faculty council approval.
- The dean of the faculty represents a proposal with the approval of the faculty council to the vice chief of the post graduate studies affairs indicating all the participants in the published research, including summary in CD form clarifying the purpose and scientific applicatory value of that published research paper.
- Conditions of the Prize:
- It is not permitted to represent the same paper more than once.
- The period of publishing the paper should not exceed one year from the day of representing the request letter of being granted the prize, and the address of the participants of publishing the paper should include Kafrelsheikh University.
- The vice chief of the post graduate studies affairs displays the names of the candidates to the prizes’ committee to agree on the selected candidates.
- The prizes’ committee has the ability to add or change any material that may benefit the research and publishing process.
Graduated Pioneers’ Prize of the University:
- Conditions of the Prize:
- The prize is granted to the pioneer of the faculty.
- The prize worth is 1000 Egyptian pounds and an estimation certificate.
- The vice chief of the post graduate studies affairs proposes the names of the pioneers to the prize committee to approve and agree for the prize granting.
Announcing for the Prizes of the University:
- The general administration of post graduate studies affairs announce for applying for the prizes; estimating and encouraging ones, from the first of October to the 31st of December each year after the agreement of the prizes’ committee.
- The scientific production required for being granted the prize is presented by the staff member at the general administration of the post graduate studies affairs in the university.
- The faculty agreement to publish the scientific research is presented until the first of February.
- The scientific research administration and the bureau committee of the vice chief of the post graduate studies affairs examine the scientific production and names of faculty pioneers to assure and confirm the validity of data represented then record these names to be presented to the prizes’ committee.
Granting the Prizes of the University:
Depending on the recommendation of the prizes’ committee, a list of the winners’ names is approved and prizes are being represented and granted to the winners on the university celebration of the annual fest each year.
