For his part, Eng Ibrahim Mekky, Governor of Kafrelsheikh, affirms that Kafrelsheikh University’s organization of this seminar reflects its important role in serving society, building the awareness of new generations, and introducing them to the history of their homeland and the heroics of the Egyptian Armed Forces.
The Governor of Kafrelsheikh praises the scientific, enlightening, and community role performed by the university, affirming that universities’ mission is not limited to providing academic education, but rather represents key institutions in shaping youth awareness, developing their capabilities, and consolidating the values of belonging, loyalty, and national responsibility.
Eng Ibrahim Mekky say: “The anniversary of October is not merely an occasion to recall scenes of victory, but an opportunity to renew confidence in the ability of Egyptians to confront challenges, and to draw inspiration from the values of will, work, and sacrifice in continuing the path of construction and development.”
The seminar witnesses a lecture by Major General Staff Officer Samir Farag, strategic thinker, military expert, and one of the heroes of the October War, entitled “The October War… The Path to Prosperity,” during which he reviews a number of important milestones in the glorious October War, what preceded it in terms of preparation, planning, and training, up to the epic of the crossing and the achievement of victory.
During his talk, Major General Samir Farag addresses the lessons learned from the October War, the value of planning, will, discipline, and teamwork, and how the Egyptian state and the Armed Forces were able to transform challenges into an opportunity to create a historic victory.
He also links the lessons of October to the requirements of the present, affirming the importance of preserving security and stability as a foundation for development and construction, and the necessity for the state and society to possess the ability to confront changing challenges.
During his lecture, Major General Staff Officer Samir Farag affirms that talking about the victories of the glorious October War should not stop at recalling the details of the battle and its events, but must extend to extracting the lessons that new generations can benefit from in building their awareness and understanding of the challenges facing the homeland.
Major General Samir Farag explained that the October War represents an integrated model of planning, preparation, patience, will, and good crisis management. He affirmed that what was achieved on the Sixth of October was not merely a military victory, but the fruit of years of work, planning, and sacrifices offered by the sons of the Armed Forces and the Egyptian people, which makes knowledge of the homeland’s history an essential part of building the personality of youth and enhancing their awareness of the value of the sacrifices made by previous generations.
Major General Samir Farag points out that new generations must know the history of their country correctly and realize that the achievements and victories that are achieved did not come from nothing, but behind them were men who offered their lives and sacrifices so that subsequent generations could live in a safe and stable homeland. He affirms that recalling these sacrifices aims not only to immortalize the past, but to create an awareness capable of bearing the responsibility of the future.
Major General Samir Farag confirms that awareness has become one of the most important elements of state power in the modern era. He explains that the battle no longer depends only on traditional tools of military power, but information, ideas, and the way awareness is shaped have become an essential part of societies’ ability to confront challenges.
Major General Samir Farag adds that youth today live in an open world in which news and information flow around the clock, and therefore possessing the ability to receive this information and deal with it with awareness has become a necessity. He points out that not everything circulated on social media or digital platforms represents the truth, and that conscious dealing with news begins with verifying the source of the information, understanding its context, comparing it with reliable sources, and not rushing to republish it or build positions upon it.
At the conclusion of his talk, Major General Samir Farag calls on the youth of Kafrelsheikh University to read the history of their homeland and become acquainted with the heroics and sacrifices of previous generations, while at the same time possessing the tools of the modern era of science, knowledge, critical thinking, and media awareness. He affirms that whoever knows the history of their homeland, realizes the magnitude of the sacrifices made for it, and possesses the ability to understand what is happening around them and analyze the information they receive, is more capable of protecting the gains of their homeland and participating effectively in shaping its future.
The university affirms that celebrating the October victories does not stop at recalling the heroics of the past, but extends to drawing inspiration from the spirit of October in the present. Just as victory required planning, training, discipline, and sacrifice, building the future requires science, research, innovation, work, and will.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Kafrelsheikh University directs its greetings and appreciation to the Egyptian Armed Forces, the heroes of the October War, the martyrs of the homeland, and their families, affirming that the memories of victory will remain a source of inspiration for new generations and a motivation to continue working for a stronger, more advanced, and more prosperous homeland.
