The interventional radiology team at the University Hospital successfully saves the life of a 76-year-old patient who suffered from acute renal bleeding that led to a critical drop in hemoglobin levels. This is achieved through a precise therapeutic intervention using interventional radiology techniques, without the need for any surgical intervention—a new medical achievement added to the series of successes achieved by Kafrelsheikh University Hospitals in providing advanced therapeutic services according to the latest global standards.
The medical team explains that the patient arrives at the University Hospital in critical condition due to severe renal bleeding. Upon conducting examinations and contrast-enhanced CT scans, (Renal Artery Pseudoaneurysm with Arteriovenous Fistula)—one of the delicate cases that require urgent intervention to preserve the patient’s life.
The case is immediately prepared in the Interventional Radiology Unit, where the medical team performs Transarterial Embolization using Microcatheters & Microcoils.
