Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid, President of the University, chairs the University Council meeting for June 2026. The meeting discusses several topics related to developing the educational and research processes, elevating institutional performance quality, and following up the implementation of the university’s strategic plan within the framework of Egypt Vision 2030 and the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The Council reviews the most important decisions and recommendations issued by the Supreme Council of Universities in its latest session. These aim to develop the university education system, elevate the quality of the educational and research process, and continue implementing the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research. This enhances the competitiveness of Egyptian universities regionally and internationally and achieves the goals of sustainable development and Egypt Vision 2030. The Council confirms the need for rapid implementation and activation of these decisions across all university sectors to strengthen institutional performance, develop educational and research services, raise the level of students and graduates, and support Kafrelsheikh University’s march toward leadership and excellence.
The University Council approves taking the necessary procedures to establish “Kafrelsheikh University Investment and Development Company,” within the framework of implementing the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research and maximizing the benefit of the university’s scientific, research, and investment capabilities, contributing to sustainable development and supporting the national economy.
The University Council affirms that the new company will serve as the economic and investment arm of Kafrelsheikh University. It will be an integrated system combining investment, development, innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology transfer. This will maximize the utilization of the university’s material, intellectual, and research assets and transform the outputs of scientific research into productive projects and investments with added value, achieving financial sustainability for the university and enhancing its role in serving the national economy and realizing the goals of Egypt Vision 2030.
The Council indicates that establishing the company represents a strategic step toward building a modern university model based on innovation and the knowledge economy. It aims to achieve several strategic objectives, most notably developing the university’s self-resources, marketing scientific research outputs, supporting innovation and entrepreneurship, attracting local and international investments, establishing technology-based startups, strengthening partnerships with the industrial sector, and supporting the transition toward a Fourth Generation University. This will enhance Kafrelsheikh University’s competitive position locally, regionally, and internationally.
The President confirms the need to complete the correction, monitoring, review, and announcement of the second semester exam results as soon as possible, while fully adhering to the highest standards of accuracy and transparency to ensure every student receives their full rights. He confirms that the prompt announcement of results is a top priority for the university because of its direct impact on reassuring students and parents and enabling early preparation for the next academic stages.
The President also directs the speedy completion of all preparations for the summer semester and the provision of all necessary academic and administrative resources to ensure the regularity of studies and the delivery of distinguished educational services that achieve maximum benefit for students.
Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid affirms that the university operates according to an integrated vision that places the student at the center of the educational process. It works as one team to provide university education that keeps pace with future requirements and prepares graduates who possess knowledge, skills, and the ability to compete in the local, regional, and international labor markets. Building the human being is the real investment that the Egyptian state relies on.
During the meeting, the Council reviews the efforts of the Education and Student Affairs Sector, the regularity of the educational and examination processes, the follow-up of control work, preparations for the summer semester, the development of services provided to students, and attention to student activities that contribute to building the student’s personality and developing their abilities.
The Council also discusses the report of the Postgraduate Studies and Research Sector, which addresses the expansion of postgraduate academic programs, encouraging international scientific publishing, supporting researchers, promoting innovation, and developing the scientific research system to raise the university’s international ranking and increase outstanding scientific output.
The Council also reviews the efforts of the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector, which include implementing community initiatives, medical, veterinary, agricultural, and awareness convoys, strengthening partnerships with community institutions, and activating the university’s societal role in supporting sustainable development plans and achieving the goals of the New Republic.
During the meeting, the University Council approves several academic decisions, including the appointment of 4 Professors, 1 Assistant Professor, and 5 Lecturers. The Council also approves the awarding of academic Master’s degrees to 36 researchers, academic Doctoral degrees to 17 researchers, professional Master’s degrees to 38 researchers, professional Doctoral degrees to 5 researchers, and Postgraduate Diplomas in Veterinary Medicine (May 2026 session, credit hours system) to 66 researchers.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid expresses his thanks to the members of the University Council and its staff for their sincere efforts. He calls for continuing the work with the same spirit and determination to maintain the distinguished position that Kafrelsheikh University has reached and to continue its journey toward greater leadership, excellence, and innovation at the local, regional, and international levels.
