Enhancing the University’s National Role beyond the Governorate Borders….. Comprehensive Medical and Developmental Convoy Reaches Beheira Residents as Part of the Delta Universities Alliance

In implementation of the directives of the President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and under the patronage of Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kafrelsheikh University participates in launching a comprehensive (medical, therapeutic, and developmental) convoy to the village of Mahallet Bashir in Shubrakhit Center, Beheira Governorate. This is part of the activities of the Delta Universities Alliance in cooperation with Tanta University, Damanhour University, and the executive authorities in Beheira Governorate, within the framework of the presidential initiative “Dignified Life” and the state’s plan to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt Vision 2030.

The convoy includes a distinguished group of faculty members and specialized doctors from the Faculties of Medicine and Nursing. They provide free medical examination and treatment services to citizens in various medical specialties, including: Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Ear, Nose and Throat, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dermatology and Venereology, Psychiatry and Neurology, Pediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Urology, and Neurosurgery.

Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid, the President, affirms that the university’s participation in this convoy stems from its national and societal responsibility, and its constant keenness to translate the vision of the political leadership into tangible reality felt by citizens across various governorates. He notes that Kafrelsheikh University has become an advanced model of a developmental university that effectively contributes to building the Egyptian citizen and improving his quality of life through specialized initiatives and convoys targeting the most needy groups.

Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid indicates that the university places community service at the top of its strategic priorities and continuously seeks to expand the scope of medical, developmental, and awareness convoys to include various governorates. He affirms that these convoys are not limited to providing treatment services only, but also extend to spreading health awareness, promoting a culture of prevention, and supporting the state’s efforts to achieve health equity and deliver medical services to citizens in their places of residence.

The President explains that what is achieved today in Mahallet Bashir village reflects the success of the joint work system between universities and executive bodies. It confirms that Egyptian universities have become a key partner in implementing presidential initiatives and achieving the goals of the New Republic. He confirms that Kafrelsheikh University will continue its developmental and humanitarian mission through more convoys and initiatives that address citizens’ needs and contribute to raising the level of services provided to them.

For her part, Prof. Amany Shaker, Vice President of Kafrelsheikh University for Community Service and Environmental Development, affirms that the convoy witnesses great turnout from the residents of Mahallet Bashir village. This reflects the high level of community confidence in the services provided by Egyptian universities through their medical and developmental convoys. She notes that the working teams were keen to provide integrated medical services according to the highest quality standards to ensure maximum benefit for citizens.

The Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development adds that the convoy successfully conducts medical examinations for 837 cases in various medical specialties. Additionally, 82 medical cases are referred to Kafrelsheikh University Hospital for further tests and necessary healthcare. Free medication is also dispensed to all attendees at the convoy site. She confirms that the university continues to support the presidential “Dignified Life” initiative through the implementation of more specialized convoys, awareness programs, and developmental projects aimed at improving living standards and upgrading services provided to citizens in the most needy villages.

 

This convoy is part of a series of community activities and initiatives implemented by Kafrelsheikh University in cooperation with its partners from universities and executive institutions. It affirms its leading role in community service and active participation in comprehensive development efforts, and in building a more prosperous and sustainable future for the Egyptian citizen.
