Kafrelsheikh University is celebrating World Environment Day, which falls on June 5 every year. This celebration underscores the importance of protecting the environment, preserving natural resources, and promoting sustainable practices. It aligns with the university’s strategic vision to support the Egyptian state’s efforts toward achieving sustainable development and transitioning to a green economy in accordance with Egypt Vision 2030.
Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid, the President, affirms that the university pays great attention to environmental issues and sustainability, considering them among the main pillars of its institutional and academic development plans. He points out that the university continuously works to spread environmental awareness among students and staff, instill a culture of preserving natural resources, and adopt environmentally friendly behaviors.
Prof. Yahya Zakaria Eid adds that Kafrelsheikh University has made advanced strides in the field of green transformation by implementing numerous environmental and developmental initiatives. These include increasing green spaces within the university campus, rationalizing energy and water consumption, improving resource use efficiency, as well as supporting research projects and student innovations related to environmental protection and addressing the impacts of climate change.
He indicates that the university seeks to integrate sustainability concepts into various educational, research, and community activities. This contributes to graduating qualified cadres who possess the knowledge and skills necessary to actively participate in building a more sustainable future. He confirms that investing in environmental awareness among youth represents a real investment in the future of the nation.
