In line with the university’s commitment to instilling a culture of volunteerism and enhancing values of belonging and social responsibility among its students, students from the Military Education course at the university participates in an extensive blood donation campaign organized at Kafrelsheikh University Hospital on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. This humanitarian initiative aims to support patients and provide urgent needs for blood units, especially for critical cases.
Prof. Yahya Eid affirms that the university places at the core of its priorities the development of social awareness among its students and the enhancement of their active participation in humanitarian initiatives that serve the community. He praises the notable turnout of Military Education students in the blood donation campaign, which reflects their awareness of their national and humanitarian role. He adds that this participation represents an honorable model of university youth capable of giving, and contributes to supporting the healthcare system, especially in vital departments that require continuous blood supplies such as emergency, oncology, and pediatrics.
On his part, Prof. Taha Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, explains that blood donation is one of the highest forms of human solidarity, as it plays a direct role in saving patients’ lives. He affirms that the impact of donation is not limited to saving others only, but also provides health benefits to the donor, including activating blood circulation, stimulating bone marrow to produce new blood cells, and using it as a therapeutic procedure in some cases such as polycythemia.
The campaign’s activities included organizing awareness sessions for students on the importance of blood donation and the necessary health conditions, in addition to promoting the culture of regular donation to ensure a safe and sustainable stock of blood units inside university hospitals.
