Prof. Yahya Eid, President of the University, affirms that the university continues its intensive efforts to support and qualify its students and graduates in line with the requirements of the modern labor market, within the framework of implementing the directives of the political leadership and the state's plan for building the Egyptian citizen. He points out that the University Center for Professional Development represents one of the vital arms for achieving this goal.
The president explains that these efforts are in light of the instructions of Prof. Abdelaziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, regarding the launch of the second phase of the “Be Ready” initiative. This initiative is considered one of the executive mechanisms of the presidential initiative “Alliances and Development”, which aims to qualify one million young people from university students and graduates for future jobs, thereby enhancing their competitive capabilities in the local and international labor market.
Prof. Yahya Eid indicates that the University Center for Professional Development has successfully implemented 7 training courses under the “Basic Employment Skills” program since the beginning of February 2026 until now, with a total of 160 students and graduates. These programs focus on developing effective communication skills, teamwork, time management, and career planning, in addition to training in presentation skills and preparation for personal interviews. This has positively reflected on raising the students’ self-confidence and practically qualifying them to integrate into the job market.
The President adds that the Center also implements a specialized training on simulating Micro Business Game, in cooperation with the Central Bank of Egypt and the German Savings Banks Association, with the participation of the National Bank of Egypt. The training involves 30 outstanding students from the Faculty of Commerce. It provides a comprehensive practical experience that simulates the establishment and management of a project, and contributed to developing skills in financial planning, decision-making, market analysis, and teamwork, thereby supporting the dissemination of an entrepreneurship culture among students.
Prof. Yahya Eid also refers to the organization of a specialized workshop at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine on how to professionally prepare a CV, with the participation of 53 students. The workshop aims to familiarize students with labor market requirements, the basics of CV writing, avoiding common mistakes, and providing practical tips to improve their chances of acceptance in job opportunities.
The President explains that the Center provides individual career counseling sessions (one-to-one) to 124 students and graduates, with the aim of offering direct support and professional advice to each student according to their interests and abilities, helping them chart their career paths more clearly.
The president refers to the announcement of the “Create… Launch” program, which aims to empower students with disabilities in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship, in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Innovators Support Fund, and the “Tamkeen” Unit, and implemented by ALX Company. He confirms that the university pays special attention to integrating all categories of students and providing them with equal opportunities for creativity and excellence.
