10/3/2026

The Deans' Council holds its regular meeting during March 2026, chaired by Prof. Yahya Eid, President of the University, and attended by the Vices of President, the Secretary-General of the University, and the Deans of the Faculties. The meeting addresses several important topics related to developing the educational and research processes and strengthening the university's role in serving the community.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Yahya Eid confirms the importance of promoting a culture of volunteer work among university students, raising their awareness of its significance and its role in community development. This is to be achieved by increasing their participation in mobile cultural caravans targeting villages and remote areas, as well as completing the implementation of projects and activities linked to the presidential initiative "Dignified Life". These efforts contribute to supporting the state's initiatives for achieving comprehensive development and improving the quality of life for citizens.

The President also confirms the necessity for the university to participate in implementing activities and events related to the six themes of the National Population and Development Strategy. These include: the theme of communication and media for development, the theme of investment in human wealth, the theme of education and learning, the theme of governance, the theme of women's empowerment, and the theme of ensuring reproductive rights. This participation falls within the framework of the integrated executive plan of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research for the year 2026/2027.

Prof. Yahya Eid further confirms the importance of urging final-year students for the academic year 2025/2026 to participate in the third edition of the Egyptian Survey of Student Engagement (ESSE). The survey was launched starting from January 2026 and continues until the end of July 2026. The aim is to provide accurate indicators regarding the quality of education, academic support, and professional guidance, thereby contributing to the development of the university education system in accordance with international standards of quality and accreditation.

In the same context, the President highlights the importance of activating cooperation with the National Alliance for Civil and Developmental Work through the mechanisms approved by the Supreme Council of Universities. The goal is to harness the energies of university youth in the fields of volunteer work and community development, and to enhance their role in serving society and actively contributing to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Deans' Council also discusses the necessity of focusing on scientific research outputs that provide innovative solutions to economic, social, health, and environmental challenges. This contributes to supporting sustainable development plans within the framework of strengthening integration between scientific research, education, and the industrial sector, thereby maximizing the benefit from scientific research results in serving society.

The President also confirms the need to focus on marketing and promoting the academic programs offered by the university's faculties and institutes, highlighting their competitive advantages and distinguished educational and training opportunities. This would help attract more students and strengthen the position of Kafrelsheikh University at both the local and regional levels.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Prof. Yahya Zakaria affirms the university administration's commitment to continuing the development of the education and scientific research system, and enhancing the university's role in serving the community, in alignment with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the Sustainable Development Strategy.
