In a joyful Ramadan atmosphere filled with affection, love, and the spirit of human solidarity, the Scouting and Public Service Department at the General Administration for Student Welfare, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Female Guides Association – Kafrelsheikh Branch, organizes the Recreational Scouting Day and Group Iftar events at Dar Al-Hanan Orphanage for Girls, under the patronage of Prof. Yahya Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University, and under the supervision of Prof. Roshdy Al-Adawy, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and General Coordinator of Student Activities at the university, along with Dr. Sobhy Serraj, Advisor of the Scouting Committee.
Prof. Yahya Eid, President of the University, confirms that caring for orphans represents a genuine religious, humanitarian, and societal duty. He points out the university's keenness to support community initiatives that bring joy to the hearts of orphaned children and promote values of mercy and solidarity among community members. He notes that the university places great importance on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, including protecting children's rights and ensuring they enjoy a dignified life and a better future.
The president adds that the participation of university students in these Ramadan activities is within the framework of instilling noble human values, strengthening the spirit of giving and volunteer work among youth. He affirms that drawing smiles on the faces of orphaned children and bringing happiness to their hearts is one of the highest forms of community service. He also extends his thanks to Dr. Lamiaa Lotfy, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Dar Al-Hanan Orphanage for Girls, and to all the staff at the institution, in appreciation of their sincere efforts in caring for the girls and providing them with a supportive educational and humanitarian environment.
He also praises the participation of university students in such humanitarian initiatives, confirming the university administration's commitment to supporting diverse student activities for their important role in building students' personalities, developing their skills, and acquiring diverse experiences and cultures. He highlights the significant importance of scouting and guiding activities in enhancing national belonging, collective work, and community service, in cooperation with various relevant bodies and entities.
The day's program includes a variety of scouting and recreational activities, along with training on scouting and guiding rules and skills. These cover an introduction to the scouting and guiding movement, camping skills, rope usage, and first aid. The training targets girls from the "Buds" (Baraaem) and "Flowers" (Zahrat) stages at Dar Al-Hanan, in an atmosphere of joy and happiness that reflected the spirit of the blessed month of Ramadan and its noble values of giving and compassion.
The events concluded with a group iftar gathering university students and the girls of the orphanage in a distinctive humanitarian scene that reflect the depth of social bonds and the spirit of solidarity and mutual support. Amid an atmosphere of joy and delight, they affirm the continuation of such initiatives that enhance the community role of Kafrelsheikh University and contribute to serving society and developing humanitarian awareness among students.
