18/2/2026

The Scientific Activity Department at the General Administration for Student Welfare organizes an educational seminar entitled “Building the Capacities of Students with Disabilities in the Field of Entrepreneurship.” The event is held at the Faculty of Commerce at the university, under the patronage of Prof. Yahya Eid, President of the University, and under the supervision of Prof. Roshdy El-Adawy, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and General Coordinator of Student Activities.

The seminar is part of the activities of the “Empowerment for Persons with Disabilities (PWDS)” initiative, which aims to support students interested in entrepreneurship and innovation. This is in collaboration with Innovators Support Fund. The initiative offers a package of programs, including fully funded scholarships, specialized training programs, innovation camps, as well as support for startups and efforts to transform research outputs into investable products. This contributes to spreading a culture of innovation and building a sustainable knowledge-based economy.

The President adds that organizing such seminars is within the framework of the university’s strategy to promote a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation among students and prepare them for the job market by developing creative thinking skills and self-employment. He points out that the university works to provide a supportive and motivating educational environment that offers all students—without discrimination—equal opportunities for creativity and excellence.

Prof. Yahya Eid explains that cooperation with supporting entities for innovation, foremost among them Innovators Support Fund, reflects the state’s direction toward investing in young minds and empowering them to turn their ideas into successful projects that contribute to achieving Egypt’s vision for a knowledge-based economy.

The seminar is delivered by Prof. Eman El-Montawy, Professor of Business Administration at the Faculty of Commerce. She addresses the concept of entrepreneurship and its importance for persons with disabilities, mechanisms for transforming creative ideas into feasible projects, and reviewed successful models and inspiring experiences in the fields of innovation and self-employment. This contributes to empowering students and boosting their confidence in their abilities and potential.
