Prof. Yahya Eid, President of the University, participates in the meeting of the Supreme Committee of the Delta Alliance for the Development of the Dairy Industry and Food Industries, hosted by Mansoura University under the chairmanship of Prof. Sherif Khater, President of Mansoura University. The meeting is held within the framework of the Presidential Initiative “Alliance and Development,” which aims to build specialized regional alliances that link scientific research with industry and support efforts for economic and social development.
During the meeting, discussions focus on the strategic outlines and the executive plan for the first phase of the alliance. This includes establishing a clear operational structure, defining measurable performance indicators, and setting mechanisms for periodic follow-up and evaluation to ensure the achievement of the alliance’s objectives according to a specified timeline. The launch of the institutional identity and supporting digital platforms for its activities is also addressed.
Prof. Yahya Eid affirms that Kafrelsheikh University’s participation in this alliance stems from its pioneering role in supporting the state’s direction toward linking scientific research with industrial needs. He points out that the university possesses distinguished scientific and research capabilities in the fields of agriculture, veterinary medicine, and food industries, qualifying it to make an effective contribution to the development of the dairy industry and the enhancement of food security.
The president adds that cooperation between universities, research centers, and the industrial sector represents an advanced model of institutional partnership based on integration and exchange of expertise. He confirms that this alliance will contribute to transforming scientific research outputs into industrial applications with added value, thereby supporting the competitiveness of Egyptian products in regional and international markets.
He further notes that the university is keen to harness its academic expertise and research infrastructure to participate in the implementation of joint applied programs. This contributes to modernizing production techniques, improving industrial operational efficiency, and preparing qualified human cadres capable of keeping pace with the rapid technological developments in the food industries sector.
Prof. Yahya Eid also confirms that the alliance represents a strategic step toward achieving sustainable industrial development in the Delta region. It reflects the commitment of Egyptian universities to their societal and developmental role through supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and strengthening partnerships with the private sector — in line with the state’s vision for building a knowledge-based economy.
