The Deans’ Council, chaired by Prof. Ismail Ismail Ibrahim, Acting President of the University, holds its regular meeting on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, in the Council Hall to discuss a number of topics related to the educational and research process and community service, in line with the university’s commitment to continuous development and improving services provided to students.
Prof. Ismail Ismail Ibrahim opens the session by confirming that final preparations for the first-semester examinations of the 2025/2026 academic year are proceeding according to the timeline approved by the Supreme Council of Universities. He confirms the necessity of completing all organizational procedures and ensuring that examinations are conducted in a safe, disciplined environment that guarantees equal opportunities for all students.
The Council discusses ways to maximize the benefits of the initiatives announced at the 5th Forum of the Association of Russian and Arab Universities, foremost among them the establishment of an Arab-Russian consortium for cooperation in artificial intelligence and the launch of joint thematic research clusters in new and renewable energy, medical sciences, food security, and remote sensing. The university is actively expanding its international partnerships, emphasizing that Arab-Russian cooperation represents a significant step toward enhancing the capabilities of researchers and students.
The President confirms the need to intensify educational and dialogue seminars to raise students’ awareness of the dangers of addiction, including modern forms linked to technology. The university is implementing ongoing awareness programs to protect students from risky behaviors and strengthen their health and behavioral awareness.
Prof. Ismail Ismail Ibrahim also highlights the importance of reinforcing national identity and promoting moderate thought by hosting experts and specialists to correct misconceptions and consolidate a sense of belonging among students. He affirms that building sound national awareness is a fundamental part of the university’s educational and societal mission.
He further points out the university’s efforts to support faculty members and researchers in increasing high-quality international publications, noting that advancement in global university rankings depends on the excellence of scientific output. The university is committed to providing a research environment that fosters innovation and distinction.
The Council also reviews the university’s ongoing efforts to launch comprehensive development convoys to the most needy villages, as part of its societal role and dedication to serving the local community and supporting residents in underprivileged areas.
