Kafrelsheikh University Achieves Advanced Positions in the 2025 U.S. News Global Ranking

Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of Kafrelsheikh University, announces that the university has achieved a new milestone in international rankings, advancing at the global, African, and national levels. The university ranks 518th globally in the 2025 U.S. News ranking, 17th among African universities, and 9th among Egyptian universities.

He also states that the university appears in nine major academic fields within the ranking:

•           Agricultural Sciences: 367th place globally

•           Biology and Biochemistry: 237th place

•           Chemistry: 637th place

•           Computer Science: 620th place

•           Engineering: 267th place

•           Environment and Ecology: 387th place

•           Materials Science: 582nd place

•           Pharmacology and Toxicology: 211th place

•           Plant and Animal Science: 62nd place globally

Dr. Desouky congratulates the university’s staff on this achievement, expressing his happiness with the university’s progress in international rankings. He confirms the university’s commitment to implementing the directives of the political leadership to elevate the status of Egyptian universities globally, and to apply the principle of international benchmarking, which is considered one of the key objectives of the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research.

He also praises the achievement, emphasizing the university’s ongoing pursuit of serious and rapid steps toward joining the ranks of prestigious global universities. This is being done by providing all necessary resources to develop the educational and research systems, and by offering continuous support to researchers and innovators. He highlights the importance of scientific research in advancing societies and nations, achieving sustainable development, and realizing Egypt Vision 2030.

 

For his part, Dr. Ismail El-Qon, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, points out that the continued presence of Kafrelsheikh University in the U.S. News ranking is a major achievement—especially since maintaining this presence and progress is alongside the increasing number of disciplines being globally ranked each year. He confirms that this success is the result of a clear vision, long-term strategy, and well-planned efforts, rather than coincidence. He notes that this distinction reflects the efforts of the university and its members to develop academic regulations and mechanisms for advancing scientific research, in addition to the continuous efforts exerted by the university administration across various fields.
