A Seminar entitled "Regulations on the Use of Social Media and Confronting Negative Societal Phenomena: Atheism, Addiction, Suicide" as a part of the Presidential Initiative "A New Beginning for Human

The Social Activities Department of the General Administration of Student Care organizes a seminar entitled (Regulations on the Use of Social Media and Confronting Negative Societal Phenomena: Atheism, Addiction, Suicide) at the Faculty of Commerce at the University, based on the initiative of the President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi, “A New Beginning for Human Building,” and within the family and community awareness program in cooperation with the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif with the slogan “A Stable Family = A Safe Society,” under the patronage of the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif; Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdelaal, Vice President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs, and in the presence of Prof. Dr. Walid Afifi, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, and Dr. Ibrahim El-Tahan, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Commerce for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and the follow-up and organization of the Social Activities Department of the General Administration of Student Welfare.

Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, points out that the goal of these seminars is to consolidate positive values ??among young people and raise awareness about issues of suicide, atheism, and addiction, correct misconceptions among young people, promote the values ??of tolerance and coexistence, reject fanaticism, confront negative societal phenomena, dissemiate community and family awareness, strengthen the structure of the Egyptian family and increase its cohesion and solidarity, support the sons of the nation in defending it and its capabilities, and limit and confront the phenomenon of extremism, in addition to how to protect oneself and others from falling into the clutches of extremist ideas, pointing out that the current situation requires an educational strategy that takes into account the religious and moral system of our societies, with the aim of preserving identity and protecting our children from falling victim to extremist ideas, which aim to influence their identity and affiliations.

 

Otherwise, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdelaal, Vice President for Education and Students’ Affairs, points out the importance of the family's role in building society. The more the family is able to bond and harmonize with one another, the more its members will transmit this culture to the surrounding community. Consequently, society will be strengthened and its pillars will be solidified, becoming stronger and more resilient in the face of any external changes or attempts to destabilize its structure and eliminate its fundamental components.
