The Activities of the Seminar "The Role of the Administrative Control Authority in Combating Corruption" in celebration of the International Anti-Corruption Day

The university participates in the activities of the seminar organized by the Administrative Control Authority entitled “The Role of the Administrative Control Authority in Combating Corruption”, at the headquarters of Kafrelsheikh Governorate, as part of the celebration of the International Anti-Corruption Day, in the presence of Major General Dr. Alaa Abd El-Moaty, Governor of Kafrelsheikh, and Major General Mohamed Naguib, Head of the Administrative Control Authority Branch in Kafrelsheikh.

Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, praises the important and effective role of the Administrative Control Authority in combating corruption and controlling many major cases recently, within the vision and policy adopted by the President Abd El-Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to combat corruption and pursue the corrupt in various sectors, extending his congratulations to everyone on the occasion of the celebration of the International Anti-Corruption Day, as an affirmation of the state’s policy and plans to combat corruption, which is one of the most dangerous phenomena affecting development rates.

The president confirms that the phenomenon of corruption is one of the most dangerous negative phenomena prevalent in countries, and the most deadly to security and societal peace, as it affects vital and influential bodies in the state, as money, bribery, and favoritism are considered the major titles of this phenomenon, confirming the importance of community participation, which falls on everyone’s shoulders in confronting corruption due to its negative effects on development, pointing out the importance of increasing awareness of the danger of corruption in order to combat it.

Otherwise, Major General Mohamed Naguib, Head of the Administrative Control Authority Branch in Kafrelsheikh, gives a lecture in which he discusses the types of corruption, including economic, administrative and social corruption, explaining the difference between occasional corruption and regular institutional corruption. He also points out the negative effects of corruption on the economy and society, such as capital flight, economic recession, widespread unemployment and social crimes.

 

Major General Mohamed Naguib explains the tasks and responsibilities of the Administrative Control Authority, including detecting financial and administrative violations, following up the implementation of laws, and assisting decision-makers in making decisions related to senior positions. He also reviews the national strategy to combat corruption and the role of the National Academy for Combating Corruption in enhancing community awareness on this topic.
