Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, participates in the meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, headed by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which is held today at Suez University in the presence of Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Council, and members of the Council.
Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, expresses his great happiness with the praise of Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, for the various and regular efforts of the universities in implementing the presidential initiative "A New Beginning for Human Building", and the provision of many diverse services by the universities in various geographical regions, as the universities launch many development convoys in various parts of the Republic to serve citizens, activating the role of universities in serving society and developing the environment.
During the meeting, the Minister also appreciates the efforts of the universities in implementing the "Tamkeen" initiative, which is being implemented by the Ministry in cooperation with the global "Hope Givers" campaign, to raise awareness of the rights and duties of students with disabilities within Egyptian universities, and to provide them with equal opportunities, and the importance of intensifying cooperation with local and international partner institutions and bodies; to ensure providing support and care for them. A major international celebration will be organized at the end of the final phase of the initiative in the Seventh Region in Luxor with wide international participation next December.
Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, points out that the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research praises the success of organizing student union elections in universities and institutes for the academic year 2024/2025, especially since student elections represent a real experience that contributes to refining students’ leadership skills and encourages them to engage in institutional work.
The Minister praises the inclusion of 27 Egyptian universities the First Edition of Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Rankings for 2025, the presence of 4 universities among the top 100 universities worldwide, and 7 Egyptian universities among the top 200 universities worldwide.
The president adds that the council listens to a report on the most prominent activities of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research during the month of November.
