Kafrelsheikh University ranks the 12th Place in the Webometrics Citation Ranking, July 2024

Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, announces the university’s progress in the Spanish ranking (Webometrics for Citations, July 2024 edition), as the university achieves an increase in the number of scientific citations from intellectual production, which amounts to 250,838 citations in this edition, compared to the previous edition, which amounts to 230,929 citations, an increase of 19,454 within six months.

Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, points out that the University ranks the 1140th place globally out of 6028 research institutions and international universities included in this new edition worldwide. The University also maintains its 12th rank out of 51 Egyptian universities and research institutions included in the ranking.

The president adds that the university's progress in this ranking is as a result of the role played by the university in supporting scientific research by motivating staff members and assistants to publish their scientific researches in internationally classified journals with a high impact factor, explaining that the Spanish "Webometrics" ranking of reference citations is one of the most important international rankings that depends on the websites of universities, and depends on the evaluation of international universities in terms of the status of scientific research in them, and aims to improve the quality of higher education and scientific research institutions on the Internet, and encourage the publication of peer-reviewed scientific articles in open access.

Otherwise, Dr. Ismail Al-Qon, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, explains that the ranking is based on the calculation of reference citations through the accounts announced on the scientific search engine, Goal Scholar, for the top 310 staff members at the university who cited the most, pointing out the university’s keenness to encourage and support staff members and assistant staff by publishing their scientific production in major international journals and fair in global databases.
