Kafrelsheikh University receives the Evaluation Committee for the Best Environmentally Friendly University Competition

Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, receives today, Wednesday 10/7/2024, the evaluation committee for the Best Environmentally Friendly University Competition affiliated to the Supreme Council of Universities, headed by Dr. Mohamed Abd El-Azim, Vice President of Mansoura University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, In the presence of Dr. Mohamed Abdelaal, Vice President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs; Dr. Ismail El-Qon, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Amany Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs.

Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, explains that the competition aims to reach the best Egyptian green university by measuring the extent of the commitment of participating universities to a number of criteria, the most important of which are education and scientific research, university infrastructure, energy and climate change standards, waste management, water management, in addition to transportation standards within the university, and the university’s role in serving and developing the community, thanking the evaluation committee for the Best Environmentally Friendly University Competition affiliated with the Supreme Council of Universities, wishing them success.

Dr. Amany Shaker, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, points out that Kafrelsheikh University aims to achieve Egypt's Vision 2030, which reflects the state's long-term strategic plan to achieve sustainable development. Kafrelsheikh University also works to raise the awareness of students to care about environmental issues and contribute to building a better and more sustainable future for future generations, thanking the university administration and faculties for their cooperation and overcoming all obstacles to always make Kafrelsheikh University appear honorable. She also thanks the members of the university's competition management committee.

 

The committee conducts an inspection tour inside the university campus, which includes the green spaces, the faculties from the outside, the gray water, the playgrounds, and the water conservation methods, and visits the university’s medical city, which includes the outpatient clinics building, the emergency hospital, and the solid waste and hazardous waste disposal program, followed by an inspection tour for the Faculties of “Engineering, Fisheries, Pharmacy, Arts, Artificial Intelligence, Agriculture, Special Education, and Sciences,” the electronic examinations building, and the research farm of the Faculty of Agriculture.
