The President Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Dosouky announces that the results of the 2022 Shanghai International Ranking of academic disciplines for universities worldwide shows the progress of the Faculty of Agriculture in a distinctive way, as the faculty jumps 100 places at the top of the ranking in agricultural sciences to rank 101-150 worldwide, and the first on the level of the Arab Republic of Egypt, compared to 201-300 last year.
Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Dosouky, President of the University, says that the progress of the Faculty of Agriculture in the Shanghai International Ranking is the culmination of a full institutional effort that worked over previous years via an ambitious strategic plan that includes excellence in the educational and research process and community service to raise the level of graduates to compete in the regional and international labor market.
Dr. Desouky adds that the faculty is characterized by the presence of 8 educational programs for bachelor’s degree and 38 study programs for postgraduate studies that serve the themes of Egypt’s vision for sustainable development 2030, in the educational and research process, as well as the presence of developed educational and research laboratories equipped with the latest research technologies, and the conclusion of many local and international cooperation agreements and protocols, which contribute to the excellence of the faculty at all levels.
The Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Yahya Zakaria Eid, explains that the Faculty of Agriculture was established by Republican Decree No. 1088 of 1969, noting that the faculty ranks the first at the level of agricultural faculties in Egyptian universities for the year 2021 in the Shanghai International Ranking of Agricultural Sciences. It also obtained the first research center of excellence in agricultural sciences at the level of faculties of agricultures in Egyptian universities last November.
