Enrollment of international students in university colleges:
After receiving approval from the General Administration for the acceptance and granting of visas to international students, and the file of the international student, the Management of International Students Affairs - at the General Administration for Education Affairs in the university - submits the acceptance statement of the international student to the Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs for approval. After approval, the management of international students sends the student's file after review to his/her college for necessary action and enrollment.
Required documents from the international student:
1. Original certified academic certificate.
2. Copy of the student's passport.
3. Original birth certificate.
4. Embassy letter for those applying through it.
5. Six personal photos.
The student is responsible for paying the required tuition fees for enrollment.
Transfer of enrollment for international students:
For old students, requests for re-nomination are submitted for:
- Re-enrollment of those who have failed multiple times.
- Transfer of enrollment.
- Completion of studies.
Applications are submitted to the General Administration for the acceptance and granting of visas to international students in the ministry before the start of studies.
Transfer of international students between Egyptian government universities:
International students are allowed to transfer to any faculty in Egyptian government universities provided that the student obtains the approval from both the transferring and the receiving universities, which requires the approval of the university president or vice president for education and student affairs in both universities. Transfer must be completed before the start of studies and can only be allowed under special circumstances as determined by the councils of both universities. The student must have paid all tuition fees and any financial obligations to the college before completing the transfer procedures.
For students transferred from Syria, Libya, Yemen and Iraq, they have to apply directly to the college to which they want to transfer with an application attached with evidence of their enrollment in any of the corresponding colleges in public universities in any of these countries - according to which they obtain a letter addressed to the General Administration for the admission and granting of foreign students in the Ministry with initial approval for the transfer so that this is not considered final acceptance except after reviewing his papers with the Ministry and the extent to which he fulfills the transfer conditions, then he applies on the sector’s website www.mohe.casm.edu.eg From 1/8 according to the announcement published on the site, after which the university will receive the final approval to accept his transfer.
Postponement of Enrollment for International Students
- It is allowed to postpone the enrollment of new students for only one year, and the General Administration for the Admission and Granting of International Students or the university must approve the request for enrollment postponement.
Palestinian Students
- Palestinian students who obtained their high school diploma from within Palestine receive a 50% discount on tuition fees and university expenses.
- Palestinian students who obtained their high school diploma from outside Palestine and those who are Sudanese nationals continue to pay a 10% fee for tuition and university expenses.
- The Supreme Council of Universities issued a decision on May 7, 1995, regarding the treatment of Egyptian female students married to foreigners who are enrolled in colleges and institutes in the first university stage. They are treated like Egyptian students regarding tuition fees.
- For daughters and sons of divorced or widowed Egyptian mothers who cannot afford tuition fees.
- For other categories, including children of government and private sector employees, political refugees, and permanent residents of Egypt who were born and completed all their studies in Egypt.
- These categories receive a 10% reduction in tuition fees, exempted from enrollment fees, and subject to social investigation for each individual case.
- Requests must be submitted to the colleges and institutes where the student is enrolled, accompanied by supporting documents for their situation, and then the university will send them to the Ministry of Higher Education for approval.
- Successful students who benefit from this discount can continue to enjoy it if they fail once during their university studies, provided that they submit a request to their college to be referred to the Ministry of Higher Education, accompanied by the necessary supporting documents.
Documents Required for Applying the Tuition Fee Reduction or Treating Egyptian Students with Respect to Foreign Students' Tuition Fees, as Follows:
First: Daughters of Divorced or Widowed Egyptian Mothers
- Completion of the model form for Egyptian divorced or widowed mothers.
- A copy of the mother's ID card (national ID).
- A copy of the student's birth certificate.
- A copy of the mother's marriage contract.
- An educational status report on the student's ability to pay tuition fees and university expenses if not new.
- A copy of the divorce certificate and an acknowledgment from the mother that she is still divorced.
Second: Children of Egyptian Mothers Who Cannot Afford Tuition Fees
- Completion of the model form for this purpose.
- A copy of the mother's ID card (national ID).
- A copy of the student's birth certificate.
- A letter from the father's employer or a certified and documented work contract indicating his monthly income.
- A social investigation report from the social affairs office in the student's residence.
- A copy of the father's passport.
- An educational status report on the student's ability to pay tuition fees and university expenses if not new.
Third: Students with Permanent Residency in Egypt (Born and Completed All Their Studies in Egypt)
- Completion of the model form for this purpose.
- A copy of the student's birth certificate.
- A social investigation report from the social affairs office in the student's residence.
- A letter from the father's employer or a certified and documented work contract indicating his monthly income.
- Copies of the student's educational certificates (primary, preparatory, and secondary).
- A copy of the father's passport.
- An educational status report on the student's ability to pay tuition fees and university expenses if not new.
All document copies must be certified by the college or institute after verifying the original documents and signed by the responsible employee.
The deadline for submitting requests to the administration is the end of March of each year.
