Abstract | This research aims to identify the current situation to respondents related to their characteristics and their knowledge &skills levels of extension recommendations in family care field, identify the correlated and determined variables to their knowledge & skills levels in this field, determine the problems which related to their characteristics and knowledge & skills levels, determine the objectives to overcome these problems, Determine the favorite communications channels to respondents in this field and set of work plan to extension program for advancement of rural women's in family care field at Damro Village, Saidi Salem District, Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate.
This research was conducted in Damro Village, Saidi Salem District, Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate a systematic random sample of 164 respondents. Data were collected by personal interview using a questionnaire. Arithmetic mean, standard deviation, person simple & multiple used to analyze data statistically, in addition to frequencies and percentage for data presentation.
The most important results were summarized as follows:
- 78% of respondents were low and moderate total knowledge level of the extension recommendations in the family care field. 89% of them were low and moderate total skills level of the extension recommendations in this field.
- The respondents prefer house visits, mass media (Radio and T.V.), extension meetings, prints and symposium as communication channels to obtain the knowledge in the family care field.
- The independents variables explained 55% & 47% of the variance in the degree of knowledge and skills degree in the family care field. The important variables were cosmopolites, degree of leadership, and contact with extension work.
Accordingly, this research recommending providing extension women in this village to provide the knowledge to rural women's in this field by house visits, extension prints, meetings, and symposiums. The agric. extension work will interesting of rural women with maintaining effective communication channels with them.
Finally, the possibility use of work plan included in this research in the implementation of a extension program for the advancement of respondents in the family care field. |
