History of the Establishment of the Technical Institute

Human development is the cornerstone of comprehensive development. Developing technical education to prepare future generations is the power source for this progress. Technical nursing education is a branch of technical education aimed at supporting and developing nursing staff. It provides them with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to master their duties and perform them perfectly. This fulfills the needs of Kafr El-Sheikh University Hospitals for skilled and efficient nursing cadres capable of providing direct and indirect care to patients, individuals, families, and the community at a high standard of quality, meeting labor market demands.

Within the framework of the university’s academic restructuring to complete its educational institutions and meet the needs of the Kafr El-Sheikh governorate for technical nursing cadres, the Technical Institute of Nursing was established under the Faculty of Nursing at Kafr El-Sheikh University. Accordingly, the Kafr El-Sheikh University Council approved the establishment of the institute in its session on July 25, 2018, to be supervised by the Faculty of Nursing. This followed the approval of the Nursing Sector Committee in its sessions on February 27 and March 29, 2018, and the Supreme Council of Universities' decision on April 21, 2018. Ministerial Decree No. 238 was subsequently issued on July 22, 2018.

Classes officially began at the Technical Institute of Nursing, operating under the unified regulations for technical nursing institutes, starting from the 2018/2019 academic year.

The fourth floor of the Faculty of Nursing building—located within the university campus near the Faculties of Agriculture and Dentistry and opposite the Faculty of Pharmacy—was designated as the headquarters for the Technical Institute of Nursing from the 2018/2019 academic year to the present.
