The President witnesses "Copilot Challenge" Activities in Collaboration with Microsoft to Support Innovation and Digital Transformation

In line with the state's direction toward digital transformation and enhancing the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the educational process, Prof. Yahya Eid, President of the University, attends the interactive challenge "Copilot Challenge." The event is organized by the University in cooperation with the global company Microsoft, and is held at the University Theater.

The organization of this event reflects the University’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships with major technology companies and opening new horizons for students to interact with the latest digital systems. This contributes to developing their skills and preparing them for both local and international labor markets.

The activities includes a distinguished interactive seminar, during which a practical challenge is implemented to solve a real-world problem using artificial intelligence tools, primarily Microsoft Copilot. Students are divided into competitive work groups, which successfully present innovative ideas and creative solutions that reflect advanced awareness of modern technology and their ability to apply it practically.

The event also provides students with the opportunity to take certified Microsoft exams in the field of artificial intelligence at no additional cost. The top five teams are honored and granted the title of “Microsoft Copilot Champions” at Kafrelsheikh University in recognition of their outstanding performance in the challenge.

In his speech, Prof. Yahya Eid, the President, confirms that hosting Microsoft within the university campus represents a strategic step that reflects the University’s orientation toward openness to global expertise and enhancing its role as a leading educational institution in digital transformation.

He adds that the University is proceeding according to a comprehensive vision aimed at building a generation capable of keeping pace with rapid technological developments. The University is keen to integrate artificial intelligence applications into the educational and research process, which achieves a qualitative leap in the level of graduates and enhances their competitiveness in the job market.

He points out that cooperation with Microsoft represents a successful model of integration between academic institutions and the technology sector. He confirms that such partnerships help transfer global expertise into the University and give students the opportunity for direct engagement with the latest technologies, thereby supporting the development of their digital capabilities and qualifying them to actively participate in achieving sustainable development goals.

In the same context, Prof. Ismail Ismail Ibrahim, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, states that this event is within the framework of supporting applied scientific research and linking its outcomes to societal needs. He confirms that the use of artificial intelligence tools is one of the most important themes for developing postgraduate studies. He adds that the University is keen to provide opportunities for students and researchers to acquire skills in dealing with modern technologies, which contributes to raising the efficiency of scientific research and transforming it into innovative applied projects that serve development plans.

Prof. Mahmoud Yassin, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence for Postgraduate Studies and Research, confirms that organizing such interactive challenges helps discover student talents and develop their capabilities in artificial intelligence fields. He explains that practical training based on real challenges is one of the best modern educational methods, as it helps students develop critical thinking, teamwork, and professional use of tools like Microsoft Copilot to produce innovative solutions.
