The Social Activity Department of the General Administration of Student Welfare organizes the National AIDS Program in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Population (Kafrelsheikh Health Affairs Directorate), under the patronage of Dr. Khaled Abd El-Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development Affairs and Minister of Health and Population; Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University; Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdelaal, Vice President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs; Dr. Mohamed Abu El-Saad, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health; Prof. Dr. Rushdy El-Adwy, General Coordinator of Student Activities at the University, and the implementation and follow-up of the Social Activity Department of the General Administration of Student Welfare at the University.
Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of Kafrelsheikh University, points out that the aim of these programs is the Egyptian state’s keenness to achieve the goals of sustainable development and the national health strategy, and among its priorities is eliminating AIDS by the year 2030, and providing students with a number of information about the AIDS virus, and the importance of awareness and prevention as the most important weapon to combat chronic diseases.
Otherwise, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdelaal, Vice President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs, confirms the intensification of community efforts to raise awareness about the methods of transmission of infection and how to prevent it. The university also seeks to implement presidential programs and initiatives for early detection of diseases, which contribute to improving public health and reducing the spread of diseases.
