The Launch of the Activities of the Second Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Arts on "Human Sciences and Human Development within the New Republic"

Today, Wednesday, 12/4/2024, Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, inaugurates, the activities of the second scientific conference of the Faculty of Arts on "Human Sciences and Human Development within the New Republic", which is organized by the Faculty from 4 to 8 December, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, and Prof. Dr. Ismail El-Qon, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, in the presence of the great journalist and media writer Mustafa Bakry, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Usbu' newspaper and member of the House of Representatives; the distinguished artist Tarek El-Desouky; Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdelaal, Vice President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs; Prof. Dr. Ismail El-Qon, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Dr. Walid El-Beheiry, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and head of the Conference; Dr. Hossam El-Messiri, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and the Conference Rapporteur; journalist Ahmed El-Sharkawy, and the deans and vices of deans, with the participation of an elite group of professors from various Egyptian universities.

The president confirms that this conference represents a distinguished academic gathering that aims to bring together an elite group of scientists, researchers and experts from various disciplines to discuss contemporary issues in the fields of human sciences and human development and to identify developments in this context to keep pace with modern scientific trends in artificial intelligence applications in developing human sciences.

In a related context, Prof. Dr. Ismail Al-Qon, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, appreciates the unlimited support of the university administration for the Faculty of Arts by providing all the necessary needs and resources and supporting young researchers, in addition to maximizing the benefit from its capabilities and resources in developing the research and technological process in the faculty as well as developing its infrastructure, pointing to the role of the Egyptian state in caring for this sector, and emphasizing the role of artificial intelligence in the humanities and the importance of digital awareness in enhancing digital citizenship within the new republic, as well as the importance of developing scientific research and directing it towards tangible practical application, in a way that serves Egypt's vision 2030, confirming that the goal of scientific conferences is to exchange experiences in an attempt to seek solutions to the surrounding societal problems and highlight the university's effective role in all fields, hoping to come up with tangible recommendations on the ground that serve the outside community.

Otherwise, Prof. Dr. Walid Al-Baihry, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Head of the Conference, points out that the convening of the conference this year aims to establish the role of the humanities in serving society and solving its problems through focusing on building the human being and working to provide an opportunity for academics and researchers in various Egyptian, Arab and international universities to exchange experiences and researches’ results in various aspects of the humanities and work to disseminate community awareness of the importance of preserving antiquities and cultural heritage, supporting and implementing community development plans and establishing the foundation of the importance of science and work in the new republic. From this standpoint, the conference is keen to set a number of themes that cover various fields of the humanities, in addition to a number of specialized scientific researches and studies, hoping for the success of the conference in bringing about development in the fields of comprehensive and sustainable development.

During his speech, the great journalist Mustafa Bakri expresses his great happiness to be present at Kafrelsheikh University, this great edifice, and to be present among great scientific figures. He  speaks about the challenges facing the Egyptian state, warning against succumbing to the toxic news and malicious rumors that are being spread from inside and outside, with the aim of bringing down the Egyptian state institutions, and the necessity of confronting them with the weapon of awareness, knowledge, effort and understanding of the importance of this stage and the size of the challenges, praising the qualitative shift and achievements witnessed by Kafrelsheikh University in all its sectors, considering it an honorable model and a beacon of knowledge in Egyptian universities.

 

During his speech, the great artist Tarek El-Desouky expresses his great happiness at being invited to attend the activities of this conference at Kafrelsheikh University, confirming the need to eliminate ignorance to overcome poverty and disease, as it is a major cause of crises and disasters. To achieve this, he calls for attention to arts, culture and media, and to build the human being in a correct way and enhance his identity. Mr Desouky distinguishes between the scientist and the intellectual, as the scientist specializes in a specific field, while the intellectual has extensive knowledge in various fields, urging students to possess a high degree of awareness, culture and thought, to avoid falling prey to lies and rumors.
