A Medical, Veterinary and Awareness Convoy to the Village Khaleej Qebli as part of the Presidential Initiative “A Dignified Life” in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports

The Department of Scouting and Public Service at the General Administration of Student Welfare at the University, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Dignified Life Foundation, and Drug Control Fund, organizes a “medical, veterinary, and awareness convoy” on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 to the village of Khaleej Qebli, the Motobas Center, and a number of neighboring villages, under the patronage of Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University; Dr. Mohamed Abdelaal, Vice President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs, and Dr. Rushdy Al-Adawy, General Coordinator of Student Activities at the University.

Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, confirms the continuation of launching medical, veterinary and development awareness convoys to the areas most in need in all centers of Kafrelsheikh Governorate, with the aim of providing medical services to citizens in the villages most in need and supporting the presidential initiative “A Dignified Life,” praising the role of qualified and distinguished medical teams, which include staff members and doctors from the Faculty of Medicine, in providing distinguished medical services to patients.

The president also confirms the importance of the therapeutic veterinary convoys launched by the university, which contribute to developing livestock, increasing the production of red meat and dairy, and providing healthy and safe food for citizens. It also contributes to raising the standard of living of small farmers and breeders, especially in the villages and hamlets most in need.

Dr. Mohamed Abdelaal, Vice President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs, indicates that organizing these convoys is within the framework of the presidential initiative “A Dignified Life,” to provide the best medical, therapeutic, awareness, and recreational services to citizens, and as a continuation of the university’s efforts in community participation and providing more medical services to the people of the governorate, in coordination and cooperation with the competent authorities.

A number of specialized professors from Faculties of Medicine and Nursing participate in the convoy, as a large number of citizens are examined in various medical specialties, which include the specialized pediatric medical clinic, the oral and dental clinic, the nursing clinic to measure blood sugar, blood pressure, obesity, thinness, dwarfism, and family awareness, with the participation of the youth of the scouting family at the university.

The medical convoy conducts medical examinations on 1,309 cases from the people of Khaleej Qebli village and neighboring villages, by an elite group of specialized and distinguished doctors in various specialties, as part of the Dignified Life initiative. Drugs are also provided to all patients visiting the convoy’s headquarters for free. A number of 182 cases are examined at the nursing clinic to measure blood sugar, blood pressure, obesity, thinness, and dwarfism.

The university also launches an integrated veterinary convoy to the village of Khaleej Qebli and neighboring villages, to conduct medical examinations on the animals and birds in the village, and drugs are provided for free, as a total of 5,585 cases are examined.

 

Many activities are also carried out in the children’s medical awareness recreational convoy for the university’s scouts, which include recreational scouting games and souvenirs that are distributed to the children of the village, in addition to holding awareness seminars, as part of the awareness campaign about the danger of drugs to the individual and society, how to deal with a smoking guardian, and the role of youth in confronting the drug problem, in which a number of volunteers from Drug Control Fund participate, with the youth of the scouting family.
