Family and Community Awareness Campaign (Season Four)

The Department of Social Activity at the General Administration of Student Welfare organizes the fourth season of the Family and Community Awareness Campaign at the Faculty of Nursing, within the Family and Community Awareness Program in cooperation with the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with the slogan “A stable family = a safe society,” under the patronage of the Grand Imam, Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif; Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth and Sports; Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University; Dr. Mohamed Abdelaal, Vice President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs, and Dr. Rushdy Al-Adawy, General Coordinator of Student Activities, in the presence of Dr. Sabah Abu Al-Futouh, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, Within the framework of cooperation between Kafrelsheikh University, the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and based on the pioneering role played by the Egyptian state in paying attention to youth issues, disseminating religious awareness, educating society, and preserving the Egyptian family.

Prof. Dr. Abdelrazek Desouky, President of the University, indicates that the aim of these symposiums is to correct misconceptions among young people, disseminate community and family awareness, strengthen the structure of the Egyptian family and increase its cohesion and cohesion, educate university students about the most important contemporary societal issues, and disseminate awareness of the importance of preserving the Egyptian family, its cohesion and stability, in order to maintain a safe society and strong generations capable of driving the engine of development and progress, and to find solutions to reduce the phenomena of domestic violence and crime in society, and to protect our children from falling victims to extremist ideas, which aim to influence their identity and affiliations.

Dr. Mohamed Abdelaal, Vice President of the University for Education and Students’ Affairs, confirms that the university is participating in the fourth season of the family and community awareness campaign, by organizing meetings, symposiums, and holding lectures, given the importance of awareness campaigns with the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar, and their impact on the stability of Egyptian society, by strengthening family ties and proper community awareness, in line with the state’s interest in such campaigns to protect the Egyptian family and society from external influences and ideas.

The symposium is lectured by Dr. Muhammad Abdelmaboud Afifi, a member of the International Center for Electronic Fatwa in the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, which addresses the role of the family as the nucleus of society, pointing to the phenomenon of domestic violence, stressing that one of the main causes of these phenomena is the disintegration of the family. Therefore, we must treat the phenomenon from its roots, which is first to pay attention to the criteria for choosing a life partner, the first of which is academic, intellectual and social parity, and not to be led by feelings that would undermine the values ??and customs of society, and create unequal families, stressing the importance of raising the value of giving and sacrifice between spouses, pointing out that marital life is not a partnership, but rather compassion, affection, familiarity, and kindness between the two parties, as stipulated in the Qur’an and Sunnah.
