Kafrelsheikh University launched today, Wednesday, corresponding to March 4, 2026, a comprehensive medical, therapeutic, and awareness caravan to Ibshan Village and neighboring villages in Biyala Center, in implementation of directives from His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, under the auspices of Dr. Abdel Azim Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; leadership of Dr. Yahya Zakaria Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University; and supervision of Dr. Amani Mohamed Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, within the framework of the presidential initiative "Together with Awareness, We Protect Her," rural Egyptian development, and continuation of the series of medical and developmental caravans launched by the university in various villages of Kafrelsheikh Governorate.
This caravan was organized in cooperation with the Health Directorate and the National Council for Women branch in Kafrelsheikh, within the framework of Kafrelsheikh University's community role and its active participation in implementing the state's plan and political leadership directives to build the Egyptian citizen and support comprehensive development efforts according to Egypt Vision 2030 and belief in the university's role in serving the local community in the governorate's villages.
The caravan was field-supervised by Dr. Amani Mohamed Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; Dr. Mohamed Abu Al-Sa'ad, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Kafrelsheikh; and Dr. Wael El-Feki, Dean's Assistant at the Faculty of Human Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, with participation of an elite of specialized teaching staff from the Faculties of Human Medicine, Oral and Dental Medicine, Nursing, the University Hospital, and the Faculty of Special Education; an elite of Health Directorate doctors supervising the distinguished caravans; the Safe Woman Unit at the University Hospital; and National Council for Women pioneers.
The caravan witnessed medical examinations for a large number of citizens in various medical specialties, including internal medicine, ophthalmology, ENT, obstetrics and gynecology, dermatology and venereology, psychiatry and neurology, pediatrics, general surgery, orthopedics, urology, neurosurgery, and dentistry, where medical services and free treatment were provided. Some cases were referred to university hospitals for necessary examinations, analyses, and imaging, and required surgical interventions were performed, along with awareness campaigns on population issues and hygiene to raise citizens' awareness of the importance of personal hygiene and environmental cleanliness to prevent diseases and improve public health, in addition to handicraft workshops and detergent manufacturing.
Dr. Yahya Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University, affirmed that the university continues launching medical, therapeutic, and developmental caravans to villages and most needy areas in support of presidential initiatives and keenness to provide integrated free health services, pointing out that the caravan included a distinguished elite of teaching staff in various medical specialties, reflecting the university's national and community role.
The President of Kafrelsheikh University directed the necessity of continuing to organize medical caravans at the governorate level, aiming to alleviate the burden on citizens and provide them with necessary health care at their places of residence.
For her part, Dr. Amani Mohamed Shaker, vice president of the university for community service and environmental development affairs and National Council for Women rapporteur, clarified that the caravan witnessed great turnout from the people of Ibshan Village and neighboring villages, where the total number of cases medically examined reached 1119 cases, confirming that free treatment was dispensed to all patients as part of the university's efforts to support presidential initiatives and achieve sustainable development goals.
