Veterinary caravan to the village of Sandala as part of the presidential initiative "Decent Life"

 On Saturday, May 4, 2024, the university launched a veterinary caravan to the village of Sandala and neighboring villages in Kafr El-Sheikh center under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, under the supervision of Dr. Abdel Razek Desouky, the university president, and Dr. Amany Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, as part of the presidential initiative "Decent Life" to develop the Egyptian countryside in cooperation with the Decent Life Foundation, and as a continuation of the series of caravans launched by the university in villages across the governorate.

This comes within the framework of the university's role in contributing to the implementation of the state's plan and the political leadership's directives to build generations capable of keeping pace with the serious steps of the Egyptian state in building the modern state and contributing to achieving its goals according to Vision 2030, and in belief in the university's role in serving the community within the villages of Kafr El-Sheikh governorate within the scope of the presidential initiative "Decent Life".

The caravan was field-supervised by Dr. Amany Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, and the veterinary caravan was supervised by Dr. Besyoni Hillel, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and Dr. Sameer El-Shazly, the Faculty's Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, in cooperation with the Decent Life Initiative led by Dr. Mahitab Kasab, and the Veterinary Medicine Directorate under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Beshar, the Ministry's Deputy Director of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate in Kafr El-Sheikh, and Dr. Mohammad El-Juhari, Director of the Animal Health Institute in Kafr El-Sheikh, and the implementation of the Community Service and Environmental Development sector at the Faculty, with the participation of professors, teaching staff, and assistant staff in the clinical departments of the Faculty.

Dr. Abdel Razek Desouky, the university president, emphasized that the university administration has developed a plan to contribute to the presidential program for the development of the Egyptian countryside "Decent Life" by launching a number of free veterinary medical caravans aimed at developing the animal revolution, adding that the success of these caravans confirms the high demand for the services provided by the university to them.

Dr. Amany Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, emphasized that the university is keen on implementing these caravans periodically, within the central role that the university plays in serving the community, with the aim of reinforcing the practical aspect for the Faculty students and affirming the positive societal role that the university undertakes.

Dr. Besyoni Hillel, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, added that the caravan included medical teams in various clinical specialties (veterinary surgery, obstetrics and fertility diseases, internal and infectious diseases, poultry diseases). Free examinations, treatment, and necessary operations were conducted for 1500 poultry cases, 32 surgical cases, 70 reproductive cases, and 370 internal cases.
