The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the university administration, in collaboration with the Ministry of Endowments, organized a religious seminar titled "Rumors and Their Dangers to the Individual and Society." This event took place at the Faculty of Pharmacy as part of the educational program of the Dawah Caravans and Religious Guidance, within the framework of the Presidential Initiative for Human Development ("A New Beginning to Build the Egyptian Citizen"). This initiative stems from the endeavor of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for human development, "A New Beginning to Build the Egyptian Citizen." It was held under the patronage of His Eminence Dr. Osama El-Azhari, minister of endowments; Dr. Yahya Eid, president of Kafrelsheikh University; and Dr. Amani Shaker, vice president of the university for community service and environmental development affairs. This reflects the pioneering role played by the Egyptian state in addressing youth issues, promoting religious awareness, educating society, and preserving the Egyptian family.

Dr. Yahya Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University, emphasized that the university is keen to organize such awareness seminars targeting the correction of misguided concepts among youth, disseminating societal and family awareness, and reinforcing values of belonging and national responsibility. He clarified that confronting rumors has become an urgent necessity amid technological advancements and the proliferation of social media platforms, noting that rumors represent one of the most dangerous nonconventional weapons used to undermine security and stability and foster division within communities.

The President of Kafrelsheikh University added that youth awareness and their ability to verify information before dissemination constitute the first line of defense against rumors and disinformation campaigns. He affirmed that building the conscious Egyptian citizen represents a fundamental pillar for achieving sustainable development and safeguarding societal stability.

For her part, Dr. Amani Shaker, vice president of the university for community service and environmental development affairs, confirmed that the university places significant emphasis on organizing dawah caravans and awareness and guidance programs due to their vital role in promoting enlightened moderate thought and correcting misguided religious concepts—particularly among youth—and thereby contributing to protecting society from destructive ideas and negative influences. She pointed out that these activities align with the state's efforts to build the Egyptian citizen intellectually, culturally, and religiously while enhancing values of moderation and belonging among university students.

His Eminence Sheikh Yasser Shaban Khatib, Director of Endowments in Kafrelsheikh Governorate, lectured at the seminar on the danger of words and their impact in shaping societal awareness. He warned against the irresponsible use of social media and dissemination without verifying information accuracy, which contributes to rumor proliferation and violation of individual privacy. He stressed that true Islam calls for verification and clarification before transmitting news, based on Islamic teachings that encourage truthfulness and prohibit harm to others.

His Eminence Sheikh Rushdi Muhammad Metwally, Imam and Preacher at the Endowments Directorate in Kafrelsheikh Governorate, also spoke about the role of youth in building and advancing society, emphasizing the importance of adhering to ethical values and positive behaviors within and beyond the university campus. He underscored the necessity of ensuring accuracy and confirming news validity before sharing to preserve societal stability and national interests.

The seminar witnessed significant student interaction, with a segment dedicated to open dialogue and addressing their inquiries, aimed at enhancing their awareness of rumor dangers and the need for responsible handling of information circulated via media outlets and social media platforms.
