Within the framework of the awareness-raising and cultural role undertaken by Kafrelsheikh University to disseminate community awareness and promote sound family values, the university's Community Service and Environmental Development Sector organized today, Sunday, corresponding to March 8, an awareness seminar titled "Pre-Marital Counseling," held at the Faculty of Specific Education, in cooperation with the Kafrelsheikh Preaching Area affiliated with Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, under the auspices of His Eminence the Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed El-Tayeb, Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif; Dr. Yahya Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University; and Dr. Amani Shaker, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and under the supervision of Dr. Naglaa Al-Ashraf, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Rasha Abdullah Jawish, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; and in the presence of Dr. Wajida Hammad, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs.
The seminar came within the framework of the university's interest in raising awareness among youth approaching marriage about the importance of psychological and social preparation for family life, contributing to building a stable family capable of facing various challenges.
Dr. Yahya Eid, president of Kafrelsheikh University, affirmed that the university pays great attention to organizing awareness seminars and events targeting its students, especially those related to building a sound Egyptian family, pointing out that the premarital stage represents an important step in young people's lives and requires a significant degree of awareness and responsibility. He added that these seminars contribute to raising students' awareness of the foundations of choosing a life partner and the rights and duties of each party, thereby achieving family stability and enhancing societal cohesion.
For her part, Dr. Amani Shaker, vice president of Kafrelsheikh University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, confirmed that the university is keen to implement educational programs and seminars that contribute to raising students' awareness of important community issues, foremost among them family and marriage issues, explaining that disseminating the culture of premarital counseling helps youth understand the nature of marital life and its requirements and reduces many future family problems.
Preacher Manal Atwa from the Kafrelsheikh Preaching Area lectured at the seminar, where she discussed during her talk the importance of premarital counseling and its role in raising awareness among youth and girls about the foundations of building a successful marital life based on mutual understanding and respect. She also clarified the most important criteria that should be considered when choosing a life partner and the importance of dialogue and understanding between spouses from the beginning of the relationship.
The seminar also addressed several important axes, including the mutual rights and duties between spouses and the importance of intellectual and social compatibility, and the family's role in supporting children during the premarital preparation stage, in addition to emphasizing the religious and moral values that contribute to building a stable and cohesive family.
The seminar witnessed great interaction from students, where the floor was opened for discussion and responding to their inquiries about many issues related to marital life, contributing to enhancing their awareness and building a correct vision towards forming a family based on affection and mercy.
