As part of Kafrelsheikh University’s strategy to expand its international partnerships and strengthen its standing among global universities, Dr. Yahya Zakaria Eid, President of Kafrelsheikh University, received Dr. Saad Mohamed Saad, Head of the Arabic Studies Department at Spain’s Pablo de Olavide University, to discuss ways of implementing several joint academic projects agreed upon during the university president’s recent official visit to Spain.

 

Dr. Yahya Zakaria Eid said the talks resulted in an agreement to establish a branch of Spain’s Pablo de Olavide University in partnership with Kafrelsheikh National University, in a qualitative step that reflects international confidence in the university’s academic and organizational capabilities. He stressed that this project will be a major addition to Egypt’s university education system and will provide European-standard international educational programs at Kafrelsheikh University.

 

The university president noted that the first phase of the new branch will include a range of interdisciplinary specializations aligned with the needs of the local, regional, and international labor market, including specialized translation, business administration, and international relations. These fields have become among the most in-demand in light of global economic and technological transformations.

 

He also explained that both sides agreed to activate joint academic programs leading to bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees between Kafrelsheikh University and the Spanish university, under the umbrella of the Erasmus+ program. This will open wide opportunities for student and academic exchange, joint research projects, faculty exchange, and the enrichment of scientific and cultural experience for students and researchers.

 

For his part, Dr. Saad Mohamed Saad expressed his happiness at visiting Kafrelsheikh University, praising its advanced academic and research capabilities and its remarkable development in educational infrastructure. He affirmed that Pablo de Olavide University views Kafrelsheikh University as an important strategic partner in the Middle East, and that cooperation between the two sides will see significant expansion in the coming period in the fields of education, scientific research, and academic exchange.

 

At the end of the meeting, both sides affirmed their determination to expedite the completion of the executive procedures for the joint projects and to set a timeline for activating the academic and research programs. This, they said, will achieve a qualitative leap in cooperation between the two universities, enhance Kafrelsheikh University’s standing as one of Egypt’s leading universities in academic internationalization and global partnerships, and confirm its commitment to providing university education to world standards that keeps pace with the aspirations of the New Republic and serves the goals of sustainable development.
