Kafrelsheikh University Ranks Fifth Nationally in the 2025 Times Higher Education Impact Rankings
Dr. Abdel Razek Desouky, President of Kafrelsheikh University, announced that the university has maintained its global position in the 601–800 band for the third consecutive year in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings. This ranking evaluates universities' performance in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and includes over 2,300 universities from 130 countries worldwide. Nationally, Kafrelsheikh University secured the 5th place among 51 Egyptian universities listed in the ranking.
Dr. Desouky highlighted that the university achieved prominent positions across multiple SDGs:
• 201–300 globally in: Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions; Climate Action; Life on Land; Life Below Water; and Sustainable Cities and Communities.
• 301–400 globally in: Zero Hunger and Clean Water & Sanitation.
• 401–500 globally in: Life Sciences; Physical Sciences; Responsible Consumption & Production; Climate Action; Affordable & Clean Energy; Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure; and No Poverty.
• 501–600 globally in: Engineering Goals.
• 601–800 globally in: Good Health & Well-being; Gender Equality; and Computer Science.
This advancement, he explained, is the result of corrective and strategic measures implemented by the university’s administration.
Dr. Desouky extended his sincere appreciation to the university’s vice presidents, deans, faculty members, researchers, administrative staff, and students for their concerted efforts, which reflect the spirit of teamwork within the university and align with its strategic plan.
For his part, Dr. Ismail El-Ken, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, emphasized that the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings are among the most significant global indicators for evaluating universities' contributions to sustainable development. The ranking is based on metrics such as research quality, institutional policies, community partnerships, and the engagement of academic institutions with environmental, economic, and social issues.
